Pics are consistant with what we've been seeing for last 10-12 month......personally I would have been surprised if they would have changed something now.
Turn signal-running lights will an improvement (once they take the current 997-look tape off).

Why does it have to be an improvement? Why can't it just be different?

You're kidding, right? Changing but not improving is changing for the sake of changing... Then we would REALLY be scr*wed, because it then becaumes very clear it's only to keep us buying...

Sadly change for change's sake made to seem like an improvement is the art of marketing. And most people have been conditioned to believe that different must mean better. Often not the case as companies use cheaper components etc.

Actually we could continue this "997-FL-thread" as the "New-911-(991)-thread". Perhaps this will lead to the breakdown of the server at last.

Re: New pics of 911 Facelift...

    LOL!

Good question though, 2011 model in 2010 or 2012 model in 2011?

Re: New pics of 911 Facelift...

    996 MKII MY'02 in 2001
    997 MKI MY'05 in 2004

    997 MKII MY'09 in 2008
    My guess, MY'12 in 2011

In 2009 as MY'10 will be the Panamera
In 2010 as MY'11 will be the Cayenne

Please find some good questions We will have a 5 year thread !!

Re: New pics of 911 Facelift...

    OK! I'll start!
It says it will have a rear mounted engine.
Will it be in front of or behind the rear axle?

    Flat 6 or Flat 8?
Smaller engine capacity and low pressure turbo?

Re: New pics of 911 Facelift...

..and I know someone is going to ask: "will it have puddles"?

Re: New pics of 911 Facelift...

great shot, great to see something of the navigation unit. The button layout is matching the RNS 510 of Volkswagen. It also matches the rumour I heard.

Nice facelift. Just can repeat myself, those backlights are looking in real most adorable and stunning - must have for me!

Re: New pics of 911 Facelift...

With all the buttons on the new PCM does that mean no touch screen? I thought the rumor was for a touch screen PCM (based on a VW unit?).

Re: New pics of 911 Facelift...

RNS 510 has touch screen and Bluetooth.

I don't think so. The RNS 510 has no row of buttons between the two turning knobs as can be seen in the spy shot. In the RNS layout there is the lower part of the touchscreen between the two turning knobs. >> Link to RNS <<

No, I share the same (cynical) opinion as you guys... but there is a small optimistic part in me that still wants to believe that the facelift comes to implement all small improvements

New navigation and air condition unit.

New navigation system, but I am not sure the A/C itself is new, it may be only a different fascia to match with the look of the new PCM.

    Few remarks:

-all test mules are wide body Carrera 4/Targa 4 cars. Makes me wonder NO narrow body 997 any more?
-new exterior rear view mirrors looks like LKW(in German!) POS(in English). I know-EU regulations.
-new Navi is the same as in VW Passat. Good or bad thing?
-steering wheel on Targa 4S mule is the same as before

All in all not bad. BUT, the question about few other thing remains:
-will Porsche introduce 997 Turbo facelift at the same time as normal 997 range? If not-who will order 997 Turbo until facelift is introduced?

The 5 and 6 pictures look like a normal Carrera not the wide body versions.

this has got to be the longest thread in the history of Rennream ad who started it Lars997

Re: New pics of 911 Facelift...

I already have a tab open and ready for creating the thread: "HOT: Pictures of the 991 Model!!!!"

Re: New pics of 911 Facelift...

on the 991 i want a carrera GT like front bumper & lights shape. I think that the actual round look of 997 anterior lights are crappy. Much better the Cayman. Having said that i'm getting a 997 Turbo Cab in 1 week because i prefer the 911 everywhere else except for the front. I really believe the 996 MK2 has a cooler looking front.

Re: New pics of 911 Facelift...

Somebody will be pretty unsatisfied but it looks like the 997 "facelift " ( i don't see pretty much of it ) will gain only 20 HP on the Carrera and the Carrera S.

345 BHP for the base ( that will carry standard bixenon lights )
    375 BHP for the S

If you think that the very expensive powerkit gives 381 hp, 375 hp is not bad IMO. If they continue to offer a powerkit, it will then go to 400hp.

Re: New pics of 911 Facelift...

it's not bad at all.I'm not saying it is bad. With PDK, DFI it will be less consuming an will have a better auto transmission. I wanted just to reply to a guy who said it was gonna gain 50 or more HP. No way

Also i heard the car will cost pretty much the same and this is good news for Porsche lovers
