nberry:Does the steering column leather have matching stitching with the leather dash? I can't make it out from the picture.
you have 3 options for this.
1) on the configurator, you select the leather sterring column, it will come in the standard color you selected.
2) on the configurator, you select the leather steering column in deviating stitching.
3) if you select deviating stitching for the car, when you select this option you will have to precise it.

A car in some respects defines you. Performance may be the heart of the car but like the human body, appearance projects more.
Where the willingness is great, the difficulties cannot be great.

the manual is louder than pdk. we will soon make a test between the wing and the touring to see the level of noise both in and out... stay tuned.

In Southern California I see more 911’s with their spoiler extended even though they are driving at low speeds. Either there is an epidemic of spoiler failures or owners like the look of a wing on the backend.

I find that those that do that are normally first time 911 owners not familiar with the 911 who find the rear spoiler amusing for some reason and think that it an aesthetic feature should be up all the time

the-missile:4trac:Is 13.5 truly frugal in these cars? Only ask because we just did 600 km, avg 125 kph, at 8.6 l/100.... yes its just a 997, but still...
500hp
Yes, that would be part of it... and the endless passing Porker had to do around slow Belgians etc., and I suspect now too that just as white is the fastest according to RT lore, Olive Green has a higher drag coefficient .

Beautiful, many congrats.
Why should I lie, I would have chosen a more stealth color with the Touring but nevertheless, your car looks amazing.

Well I've done about 200 of the km's on country roads, some spirited driving. The remaining 600km's were motorways, in that perspective it's pretty frugal to me.

First of all many congrats to all RTers taking ownership of the hairy chest version of the 911 - enjoy the beasts and bring them to the track where they belong
As for the observation of tail happy 911s: it's a feature of the 991.2 3.0 L cars - as cooling is important for the turbo engined cars and as the 3.0 do not have the side intakes (like the big daddy turbo) the wing raises also at slower speed if the intercooler needs extra airflow - probably happens more often in sunny California than in the UK (for example)
However driver liking the look of the wing in the rearview mirror should not forget to tick the SPASM box.

One thing that has really surprised me is how quickly the GT3T warms up to operating temperatures - 4 to 5 minutes or 2-3 miles; my previous 991.1 C4S with power kit (430bhp) took 10 to 12 mins or ~7- 8 miles. Top oil temperature in C4S = 104 centigrade: GT3T = 90 max (mileage now allows me experience the intoxicatingly stratospheric 9000rpm). Quite a difference, me thinks, all in less than sunny UK.
Unfortunately, I can’t remember the comparative values for 997.1/2 or 991.1 GT3s; can someone with a better memory, or indeed, who is running these models supply the relevant stats? Plus, does the 991.2 GT3 winged wonder mirror the warm up parameters of my Touring?
Cheers
Robograd:Plus, does the 991.2 GT3 winged wonder mirror the warm up parameters of my Touring?
Yes, warm-up is similarly quick with winged wonders too. I think they cause the fast warm-up, so the cat converters work quicker and better control emissions.
Maybe they stop or slow the water pump (or close the thermostat) at start-up or something...

My .1GT3 was around the same, guys. But I never gave it the full beens till around 8 miles. I will do the same in my .2 too. I wouldn’t dream of hitting 9000rpm soon after the blue light goes out, way too early ,,,, Jmo......

I agree - I always keep an eye on the Oil temp (not water) and don't get on it until around 190F (88C)

I check on the alcantara visors and unfortunately in the US we have mandatory yellow stickers on the visors. No point in spending $500 on visors. I also looked at the alcantara seat belt outlet. Though I agree it looks better than the plastic, its not noticeable enough for me to option it.
But the leather steering column with stitching looks good so I kept it.
I saved a $1000 today by deleting the alcantara pieces for the door panel (hardly noticeable and only when the door is open) and the crest on the center compartment lid ( very difficult to see).

Yep, we still have the damn labelling too.
You sure about the belt outlets?.. They are very nice / sporty. I know they are behind you when driving but it really knits together the side and ceiling interior ......
