    GT3 and Kids...

    I have heard of someone retrofitting attachments (latch?) into the back of their GT3 for the budding racer... Anyone here done this? Or installed an airbag cutoff switch for the front seat? I want to make sure i can give the grommit a ride!

    I installed the airbag cutoff switch for the front seat and it works fine.

    The airbag cutoff, as Mikla stated, works fine. I have it on my X51 Carrera S and is perfect.

    Someone on Rennlist put rear seats into their GT3. I would recommend against this, no matter how well it's done, it is a large legal liability because the car was designed and registered to be a 2 seater.

    Stick with the front seats+factory airbag cutoff parts.

    ech--good point. isn't it odd that i grew up sitting on the arm rest between the front seats when we drove around and now the idea of BOLTING a 5-point seatbelt full-surround car seat to the back of the car is a bad idea... sigh

    So, cut-off meisters, is that something a shop did for you or did you do it yourself? (where does it go?)

    Here is the technical info for installing rear seat belts in a GT3.

    You should get written confirmation from your insurance company that they will cover the rear occupants before doing the install.
