A 6MT M3 has run an 8:05 (SA) at the Ring on CUP tires. With the 7 speed dual clutch transmission it should do a bit better.

Cayman S nordschleife by WR is 8.11
So M3 is quicker but has got also 3.8 kg/cv against 4.56 of the Cayman.
This means that a similar ratio would see a cayman with 355cv, so same power of the actual carrera S.
Would you imagine how quick could then the small baby be?

Good old Horst must have had a bad day with the CaymanS (slower than 3.2L/280 hp Boxster S).
There is no evidence re the claimed W.R. time, but you can watch the vid with Timo Kluck doing a 8:17 with a 85kg passenger (car equipped with PCCB + normal tires). As the lap was filmed by a BMW driver following the CaymanS it shouldn't be a fake
Take away the passenger + put on some cup tires and I bet the car will achieve the claimed WR time (8:11). Sportauto times are nice to get an idea about the performance of a car, but it's not the bible - just IMHO of course.
