Yesterday I sold our MY14 Cayman 2.7. The new car, because of its 2.0 liter engine (less tax), decreases the cayman list price by 30%. It is too new and not known by the market; so it doesn't effect our resale value much. I think in 3-4 months, 981.1 cayman prices will depreciate 15-20% more in Turkish market.

Now thinking of ordering the 718 with more options for 2017 March delivery.

Yes, for some markets, the downsizing is surely a benefit (Italy as well?).

No, in Italy the "Superbollo" is based on power. IIRC you pay 20 Euros annually for every KW in excess of 185. Also, I think you get some "discount" on that as the car gets older.

Actually, not for the S or the GTS but 4 pot 2.0 turbo engine is good move from Porsche for 2.7 base engine. Because 290 NM torque of 2.7 boxer engine comes @4500 as peak power which is too weak compared to 380 NM torque of 2.0 litre comes between 1950-4500 rpm. This is a huge improvement.

In Turkey we have 90% lux. tax for the cars with less than 2.0 litre engines (+18% VAT); and 145% lux. tax for the cars with larger engine capacity then 2.0 (+18% VAT).

So even a Cayenne 2.0 or a 911 2.0 would make sense in Turkey?

For many parts of Asia the 2 litre engine will be welcome with open arms for tax reason. For the rest of us, not terribly exciting!
