It is fun and it can be used as some sort of tracking device if the car is stolen but otherwise, I don't know...

I've finally taken delivery. Unfortunately I haven't had much time to drive it, so haven't got much to report yet. I'll do that once I've had more seat time and done a few more photos. It's my first PDK, or automatic even, and it takes some getting used to. Already made a fool of myself while driving home. I was trying to press the clutch pedal and hit the brakes instead: Almost banged my head on the steering wheel. Because of the brakes squealing I had quite the audience. To my shame, this happened twice.

you are going to have to tie your left leg to the seat anchor for the first 1000km until you loose that reflex

Common 'mistake'. Switch between several manual and automatic vehicles every week.
When shifting manually on a PDK or DSG I sometimes even change the wrong way (using the stick, pushing or pulling).
Since you're a biker too: my 998 has a different pattern than my Triumph (first is up with 2nd through 6th downwards, T595 is 'standard')...

Congrats, Joel...beautiful "clean" car, very nice and "racy". 
Don't worry about that brake pedal thing, you get used to it fast...probably faster than you imagine.

Better it happens now on the road than later while trying to upshift when flat out on your way to Schwedenkreuz 
At least the PDK GT3 doesn't do strange things like the Mercs in these situations: Mrs. PJ also hit the brake pedal once when swapping seats from the manual BoxsterS with a Merc E-Class (auto gearbox) - the Pre-Safe system analysed that a crash would be following and hence fuel supply and ignition was shut off automatically. Result: she couldn't simply stomp on the gas pedal to correct her fault / escape the situation, so that a truck almost hit the Merc Just put some piece of heavy iron into your left shoe and you'll be fine

Re the GT3, the rear wheel steering feels wierd.
I haven't gone anywhere near the limits yet but can already report that the car feels extremely planted, at swift pace, like on rails. Very satisfied. It doesn't feel as nervous at idle like my previous 997.2 GT3, which had a single-mass flywheel. That I do miss a little but other than that, the car feels much quicker than the previous generation. There's no comparison. There's an abundance of performance, lots of torque down below. However I'm simply repeating what has been said so often already : The engine is a gem! If indeed this was the last N/A, Porsche surely has closed the chapter with a masterpiece. 
Btw my son likes the car very much too. He never wants to get out again, and he's only 2,5 yo
As soon as I have done a few more km I'll report back with some handling impressions. This was my biggest concern, but so far I can't tell a difference (other than the RWS). It feels direct enough.

There’s a lot of hype about ceramic coatings and how they last for many years, it’s just sales talk. Their permanence is better than traditional sealants but they aren’t too hard to remove. It’s only 1-2 microns, maybe good for 18-24 months if cared for correctly. Any good detailer or person with a DA could remove it. Maybe some are harder than others. My Kamikaze Miyabi was easily polished off to fix some high spots. I was concerned about it as well seeing how the first time I did a ceramic coating it was on my old black 911. Don’t let that turn you off. I’m going back to a sealant type coating as I just prefer the look.
