    Is this the real F430

    Today in www.autoexpress.co.uk

Re: Is this the real F430

    Yawn.

Re: Is this the real F430

It's photoshopped and not the real car.

Re: Is this the real F430

Please, no 5 star rating for this one

Re: Is this the real F430

    Thanks much

    Why not?
I like it and photoshopped or not, this is it.
Not sure about the 500 HP though but maybe Ferrari really did the right thing and said "enough is enough", we have to be on the top again, especially regarding the 996 Turbo and Lamborghini Gallardo. Tough times...especially for the new Turbo. But...

    Why doubt it?

425 hp from 3.6 liters corresponds to 118 hp/l. Working on same specific power output, 4.3l would be good for 507 hp.

Re: Is this the real F430

would make perfect sense if they were actually getting 425 HP:) I think it is closer to the original 395, as many dyno's in the US seem to show no difference...

Re: Is this the real F430

You know that the Italian rivals (Ferrari and Lamborghini) have to top each other. If Lambo has 500 hp Gallardo then everyone knows that Ferrari is going to offer at least the same number on the upcoming 360 succesor if not more. Unless Ferrari has some technological breakthrough that will over shado the HP issue.

It's the ego thing, isn't it?

Well, if they cheat on the CS, they'll just have to cheat on the 430 to be consistent.

Then there is the old joke about Porsche engines producing cavallos , and Ferrari engines producing cavallinos , so I guess dynos need to be recalibrated to PP (pony power) before Ferrari engines are tested on them.

Re: Is this the real F430

    Any questions about photoshop?

Re: Is this the real F430

    haha good job farina!

Re: Is this the real F430

If the car has 500hp, it will be a beast!

No more Lambo, but 5.0L vs 4.3 hmmmm......One things for sure, Porsche better respond with the same output.

I don't doubt it. I'm just not sure because this is a huge power "jump" for Ferrari. But maybe I should really hope for it to be true. Because the pressure on Porsche gets higher and higher and the 997 Turbo/Turbo S has to be able to cope with it's "classic" competitor, the new "Modena".
I heard two variants for the Turbo/Turbo S:
    1. 450 HP and 480 HP
    2. 460 HP and 500 HP
My dream would be: 480 HP and 520 HP. Wishing on a star...

Even if the turbo had 480 hp the turbo 3.8 would be a lot more torqueier then a atmospheric 4.3l, but thats the least of porsche problems I think that for overall performance, the weight will be crutial and I am guessing thet 430 monza will be about 200 kg lighter, even if the turbo somehow maniges to beat it, no 911 will beat the new 430 monza cs that is expected to be extreamly sporty. As they say just my two cents.

As for the hp of the 360 cs it does have 425 hp you need to test it with the wind blowing into the scupes for it to produce it. Other wise the engine will act the same as a normal 360, offcourse these are just petty excuses

Re: Is this the real F430

I don't like it..it looks a lot different from the first prototype pic that you had.. I really like the look in that pic, very aggressive
The F1-inspired new single air intake is missing..and the headlights are more Scaglietti than Enzo..and from the latest spy shots, I think it's going have Enzo-inspired rear fenders and different door panels..and the new style mirrors are missing..

Hope someone can secretly snap a photo on the 20th presentation..

May I doubt it? 997 Turbo, 997 Turbo S, 997 GT3, 997 GT2...all very likely to be faster on the track.
The new 997 Carrera S already "beats" the Challenge Stradale on the Nordschleife, a little hint what to expect from the "upper class" 997 models.
But of course we have to wait and see if Ferrari was clever enough to offer a completely new package or if they just did a better facelift. As soon as the F430 technical details will be available, we know more.

    Regarding weight:
real life weight 360 Modena - 1464 kg
real life weight 996 Turbo - 1569 kg
The 996 Turbo is 105 kg heavier than the 360 Modena.
I don't know where you think Ferrari gets a 200 kg lighter F430 from. To my knowledge, the F430 will hit the "real life" 1500 kg mark, the new 997 Turbo will be around 40-60 kg heavier than the old one, so the weight difference between both should be in the 100 kg range.

The F430 CS might be a different story, if customers are lucky they get a 60-70 kg lighter car. But of course there still is the 997 GT2, the 997 GT3...

Interesting times for Ferrari and Porsche enthusiasts.
I know somebody who already blindly pre-ordered a F430 CS and a 997 Turbo, it'll be fun to read the person's driving reports as soon as he owns the cars. He is a Rennteam.com member, so I'm looking forward to it.

Well, actually it wasn't a picture of a prototype and it looks pretty much the same as the car in the photoshopped pictures with some minor differences.
Maybe the angle of the "spy" picture just makes the car look different.
If this is the new F430, I think it will have a huge success because it finally gets rid of that feminine line flow which a lot of people (incl. me) didn't like on the 360 Modena. I always liked the F355 and the F430 seems to be a worthy successor.

Re: Is this the real F430

RC, this is interesting because, while I can not comment on the back end of the car (is it like this? when you saw it?) I am intrigued by the fact that the front fascia was substantially different with a connected 'smile' on the infamous in-factory picture. As were the mirrors different. In this photo, the car just has a lower front spoiler in the middle section, but not connected.

Photo? Just wait for the "real" thing.

Re: Is this the real F430

Exactly my point. But, RC was right when he pointed that that pic is not really a real pic of the F430, just as this photoshopped pic is not (Farina did a really great job in pointing that out )

I hope the real thing has larger, larger front and side air intakes! Hope someone somewhere get somewhat something on the 20th

Re: Is this the real F430

    ? RC, are you serious?

Please don't get me wrong, but while I'm OK with the rear (how much different could it be, right ), I think the side profile and front are still too similar to the 360, still too feminine.

And I hope the positioning of the new vertical headlights would be somewhat different...like in this old infamous pic, one can see that the outer line of the headlight is flowing nicely following the bumper line...unlike the autoexpress pic where the angle is weird...

Re: Is this the real F430

Again and again: other details which are wrong! I like it ...

Re: Is this the real F430

Oh my god... it's really bad! There are more faults than the years of my life! I can't believe it...

Re: Is this the real F430

    Dear Farina,

    I have a suggestion.
How about improving the photoshopped picture yourself? I think we might have more precise insight into the upcoming F430.

    Always appreciate your hard work.

Re: Is this the real F430

Farina, what's the problem with the picture. Sure the intake and wheels are photoshopped and clearly visible, but the overall impression is okay. And nobody looks, if the shades and shapes are perfect... except of you!

Re: Is this the real F430

hes just trying to prove that they aren't 'leaked internal photos' like some of the magazines may claim.

many of these are just fairly good photoshops (except to farina ) usually they are done by digging up old/obscure studio pictures of the old model, and then grafting new elements them,

with a sharp eye and some research on the net, you can find most of the donor photos from which these 'final' ones were made.
