Re: HOT: Pictures of 997 Facelift!!!!

But what is strange is that this 'line' seems to be on all models, not only the S . So maybe, it it not a red stripe , but only a line on the hood

Re: HOT: Pictures of 997 Facelift!!!!

I wonder if they plan a Powerkit for the facelifted S, if the standard engine will deliver the rumoured 380-390HP?

Re: HOT: Pictures of 997 Facelift!!!!

I only see two cars with the red line, a c4 coupe and a c4s convertible

Exactly... The stripe used to be for the S .
So is this a tripe or not ?
If yes, will all the C4 have it and not only the S ?

Interesting. Leaves no room for the current model designation. Can it be it IS the model designation? A backlit Carrera logo, anyone?

Re: HOT: Pictures of 997 Facelift!!!!

    Nothing about the new PDK?

Re: HOT: Pictures of 997 Facelift!!!!

I don't think this has been linked before, but here are some more photos from Autospies.com of 997 (and others) testing in South Africa - includes pictures of the R8. Not as good quality as The Stigs though.

Re: HOT: Pictures of 997 Facelift!!!!

I made this long long time ago, guess I wasnt that far off afterall

I'll fix the rearlights when I find the time..

Re: HOT: Pictures of 997 Facelift!!!!

Perhaps the unidentified strip across the width is a spoiler in the same mould as the Boxster's. Hope not though.

Although the back of the car IMO doesn't really need the stripe, I think it does look good.

With the bigger retractable spoiler of the 997 beneath the rear window, there is no need for such a device.

Re: HOT: Pictures of 997 Facelift!!!!

    how about this?

Re: HOT: Pictures of 997 Facelift!!!!

    Seems completely unnecessary to me.

    Secret Porsche Puddle Martyr Society

Sadly the Secret Porsche Puddle Martyr Society (SPPMS) have had all their really crisp, high detail interior shots confiscated and have been thrown into an interrogation room in Weissach. That means no pictures of interiors with or without puddles for the forseable future, for which we apologize, but undoubtedly those amongst us with short-term memory loss will continue to ask for them...

    hahahah

    Re: Facelift timeline

From another source, that may be credible.......the shift to 09 production this summer will find the car relatively unchanged. What we see as 'Facelift' won't roll off line until March 2009, probably as a MY2010.
If so, it surprises the heck out of me. I was actually thinking MY08 would be a short production & kick to facelift early.
No secret the U.S. production allocations are slated to be down significantly this year.
Anyone else hear any of the same?.......or have good reason to find this info bogus?

    Re: Facelift timeline

My dealer told me last week that their spring allocation was cut back sharply leading them to suspect a summer intro of the facelift. I hope they're right (I've got their first facelifted Targa), but even they admit that it's all conjecture and that Porsche is saying absolutely nothing.

    Re: Facelift timeline

    I hope so.
If the summer intro is right I think the facelifted 911 will be showed in Geneve this march.
    A friend of mine has just buyed a 911 S with a 13% discount.
Is it just a sign of time??

    Re: Facelift timeline

    Geneve in March!

    Can't wait for the RS.

    Hopefully in the summer.

MY dealer confirms likewise and many have put down deposits for 2008 June production and he said that they would NEVER BE PRODUCED and the quota will be moved to September production after factory vacation October delivery.

He said while Porsche had remained quiet all all FL's news, I think the FL will come this summer. First all, quotas are cut for sure. Second of all, sales said it was surefooted that the FL will come and it would not only comprise of cosmetic changes. In fact, across the board the PDK will be launched and DFI on all 911s. I sort of would tend to think that because with the rollout of BMW's DKG, PAG has to do something to upgrade its flagship. Finally, all the spyshots and testing must lead to something and we all know that the 997 turbo is due for a FL but since that was just launched, they would do it to the 911 first. I am sure that the FL/PDK PUDDLES whatnot will come this summer.

    Re: Facelift timeline

    Thank you le chef!

    Re: Facelift timeline

I have been told by 2 different dealers, 09' model build will start sometime in May. It will surely inlude the DFI (with plus 25hp maybe a touch more & even greater tourque increase). Nominal increase in US price. Nearly all details to be known at some point in March.
