    The farmer:

And since this is a new generation and not a facelift I guess they will stick to their old policy i.e. Turbo/Turbo S about one year later ??? cheeky

IIRC we've seen that policy for the 911, but not for the Cayenne/Panamera/Macan. If my memory isn't failing me, we always saw the "Turbo" at launch for the 4-door Porsches.

Hmmm, sounds promisingSmiley My current PTS was no problem, but the first generation had me waiting. But that wait was due to turbo problems if I rember correctly, so....

I do hope you are right, but based on qualified guesses in this forum regarding launch time put together with the estimated time schedule given to me from my dealer still gives me some bad vibes regarding the launch of the Turbo S..

And correct me if I,m wrong, but isen't the Turbo often launched way ahead of the Turbo S ?SmileySmiley

Re: Panamera 2016 (Gen.2) Thread Closed

I know for sure about two engine/drivetrain models that will be available from start. E.g. production in 09/2016 (if problems that Aldo report are solved). Cars should probably hit EU dealers and first customers in early Oct 2016.

    Panamera 4S Diesel
    Panamera Turbo

Probably one additional petrol engine also but above two 100%. Diesel 4S will be the "new big thing".

Re: Panamera 2016 (Gen.2) Thread Closed

Lukas, you are right. Both cars from beginning. The 4s diesel will (or should) get the same engine as SQ7 (maybe some minor changes).

Re: Panamera 2016 (Gen.2) Thread Closed

That will be a fast diesel. Any Information about the new V8, electric turbocharger?

Re: Panamera 2016 (Gen.2) Thread Closed

That´s what confusing me, what I have heard is little less torque compared to the SQ7 engine and no word about electrical turbocharger. I have to admit, that my information is very old about 6 month or so. I have posted here, I think 437 hp and something 870 Nm, but I'm not sure if I remember correct.

For sure is that the new 4s diesel is the car to have.

Re: Panamera 2016 (Gen.2) Thread Closed

Maybe the electrical turbocharger was not a sure thing back then. Do you have any information about the petrol V8 in the Panamera Turbo?

Re: Panamera 2016 (Gen.2) Thread Closed

Any rumours about the comming Turbo S regarding Hp, tourque etc ?

Re: Panamera 2016 (Gen.2) Thread Closed

I have to refresh my informations - will do that on Saturday or Sunday.

There are some strange numbers - the Turbo S  will be hybrid with lot of hp (700??) but the top speed is less then turbo cheeky the weight is much higher then turbo. But you have huge torque.

All numbers are right now somewhere fished out of my memories so please forgive me if I am wrong.

Thank you for doing that kiss.

Re: Panamera 2016 (Gen.2) Thread Closed

All I heard is that the next gen Panamera Turbo S gets the same new V8 (4.0 l?) engine with at least 600 hp (600 hp seems to be the new performance hp level for such cars...). Didn't hear anything about a hybrid but I guess all future cars will get some sort of hybrid tech/model in a way or another, so it makes sense.

Not so strange if the hybrid boost is used for acceleration:

The real performance advantage of the hybrid, is acceleration. We can see this in the WEC. Last year the Porsche 919 was in the 8MJ class whilst the Audi was in the 4MJ class. The Audi reached a higher top speed on Les Hunaudieres (Le Mans), but the 919 actually covered the distance quicker. The reason: The 919 reached strata strophic speeds much sooner than the bigger diesel and so spent more time at a higher speed than the opposition even though the opposition eventually reached a higher top speed.

Re: Panamera 2016 (Gen.2) Thread Closed

I mean that makes sense. Even the old Panamera turbo reaches 307 km/h and who needs to drive this? So brutal acceleration is nice to have.

I will try to refresh my information, maybe I will get some freshier and more accurate.

Re: Panamera 2016 (Gen.2) Thread Closed

At this rate, we all know what the car will look like. I read somewhere that the current Panamera is now the worst-selling Porsche model out there and many salesmen I know are complaining about how slow-moving its sales are; I've never seen such considerable discounts being offered just to move old stock out.

Porsche are really shooting themselves in the foot with their delayed introduction of this new model, and I t's only going to be worse if they [inevitably] increase their prices and make an already expensive car more out-of-reach. Don't know about you, but I'm already bored of waiting.

This 911ish rear fall in a +5m long luxury and/or sporty berlina looks odd to say the least. I simply can't stand with it.

Re: Panamera 2016 (Gen.2) Thread Closed

If they want to sell more Panamera they must make sure it seats 5 people and then drop the MSRP 15% (less on base model more on turbos).

Re: Panamera 2016 (Gen.2) Thread Closed

How many two row vehicles are there out there that seat 5 comfortably, including SUVs? And 5 adults? I don't think this is an important criteria in this segment.

Re: Panamera 2016 (Gen.2) Thread Closed

It doesn't have to be comfortably! We have two children's seats in the back of our ML. An adult can get in between them if say my mother in law is going to dinner with us. We're not going to drive 100km with her there but not having to take two cars to drive 5 people is a useful feature even if it's rare.

totally agree with you, but buying take outs for mother in law may not be a bad idea either.Smiley

like RS7 I had, I rarely used the rear middle seat, and it was not meant for seating.  However, I do used it sometimes for short distance to pick up other people, just having the ability to carry 5 instead of 4 adds a lot of value, regardless how often I uses them....

same as for the 911s, who really uses the back seat....  but its there, if there is a need, you can throw them in for short distance for the kids....

I think Panamera will still keep its 4 seats, as their GT will be 100% 5 seats... so no point making two cars 5 seats, but this will mean panamera sales will be very bad once GT comes out in a year time....

I actually heard that at some point, the Panamera is going to get two options for the backseats...sporty or comfy single seats (so only two persons in the back) and three seats. Not sure however if this is valid for the coming generation already.

Just what everyone needs, a 2,3 tons Panamera. I just really don't like hybrid tech, obsolete before it matures...

Re: Panamera 2016 (Gen.2) Thread Closed

    Thanks Aldo!kiss

2,3 ton...... Won't even try that one on track. Wow, that's heavyangel

Re: Panamera 2016 (Gen.2) Thread Closed

Clever from Porsche add some value to the Turbo S via using hybrid tech as a boost.

Dumb from Porsche make such fat car again. Two tons brand new car is a joke imho. The ~5 years old FF is ~100 kg lighter being equiped with a v12.

Re: Panamera 2016 (Gen.2) Thread Closed

Thanks Aldo kiss. Seems like the numbers of the Turbo are not much better than ftom the current one. The new Mercedes E63 AMG S is supposed to do 0-100, as rumors say.

Re: Panamera 2016 (Gen.2) Thread Closed

Sure it's heavy, but the consumption number is impressive. (Can't believe i'm saying this...)

Re: Panamera 2016 (Gen.2) Thread Closed

    RS 991:

Thanks Aldo kiss. Seems like the numbers of the Turbo are not much better than from the current one. The new Mercedes E63 AMG S is supposed to do 0-100 in 3.5 seconds, as rumors say.
