    Gnil:

Manual , white .... doesn't add up . What happened to you , a moment of weakness ?

Haha. Counting back the last 5 Porsches I have bought, this white Speedster, black Panamera Turbo S, blue GT2RS, gold Exclusive, black 911R. Black is still the majority Smiley

I am also considering converting the car to PDK. According to my foreman, the GT3 PDK should bolt right up..........after that's it's just software. Hardware part is easy.

Anyways, a while ago I told my first dealer I didn't want a Speedster, guessing that allocation when to Tim and his PTS Maritne Blue car. I switched dealer and also told the 2nd dealer that I didn't want one.

During the local 992 launch, the Western Canada rep came up to me and said he didn't see my order of the Speedster in the system, figured I forgot to order or something and he dig up an extra allocation for me. So given a 3rd chance I ended up getting one. Sort of a secret as no one knows outside of him and my dealer.

It was too late to get PTS, and among the stock colours, I hate silver/grey, yellow and red, already have a Miami Blue, also had a Lava, what's left is chalk, lizard, black or white.

Car doesn't look good in black, hence it is white. I like how all the exterior black bits break up the sea of white.

Interior is black with yellow stitching to match the yellow callipers. Just a simple built. 3 colours total.

Love the white. I have always maintained Porsche white is the best white in the industry. My dealer had a black Speedster at list price and I passed. It doesn't look as good as the white.

Don't bother making the change to PDK. It is what it is and probable fetch more if you decide to sell it.

So Porsche finally comes clean about what the 'Sport' button do......

Not sure why they named it 'Sport' from back in the 911R days.

It's already over 100km, it was at 15km when I picked it up.

Anyways, there is a slight difference in how the clutch picks up. Yesterday after picking up, I stalled the car 4 times before getting home. Don't even remember the last time I stalled more than a couple times driving a manual. And I don't think it was deteriorating skills either as I had been driving the old school 3.6.

With the top down, rear visibility is quite good, the 'bridge' is just at the right height to block headlights. Top up the rear plastic window is also big enough to see traffic.

Next to none shoulder check sightline to the passenger side, the giant bubble took care of that. Even worse than the 918 for shoulder check, at least in the 918 I know nothing can block me if I punch the throttle to make room. Got used to it pretty quickly by adjusting the mirror.

Maybe I am getting old, but the 918 buckets seats are getting worse, My back hurts after spending around ~140mins in the car. Regret not getting the sofa seats.

The sound. Hmm. well it's still glorious with or without the top on. Cloth top anyways so sound goes right though. Shifter is the same fool proof one, it's like cheating shifting it, one simply cannot miss a shift even if you tried.

Top down, windows up, wind buffing is just about non-existent, windows down then all bets are off.

Still practicing with the top operation, I think I am down to 42 seconds putting it up. Putting it down is easy, hold the switch to unlock, get out of the car and slide the rear deck out, go back to the front and throw the top into the well, go back to the back and slide and slam the deck back on.

A bit more work doing the other way. hold the switch to lift the rear deck, get out and go to the back to slide the deck, go back to the front to lift the top up, but it's tricking as there isn't really a 'lift here' spot, and the thing is like dead weight, it twist a bit resisting the force to lift it, the lifting force needed to be spread apart to successfully lift the far end too. After lifting the top into place I need to go to the back and slide the deck back into position and lock it down, then go inside and close the latch and then out again to press the 2 flaps down. Can't latch the top first before sliding the deck back in place as it won't latch up doing it this way.

Steering feel, about the same as on the 911R, lighter than the Exclusive, the GT2RS feels lighter still though.

Porsche says the suspension is softer than the 911R, I can't feel any difference. Sports mode is softer than the GT2RS's normal mode, but that's not saying much, think my race car is sprung softer than the GT2RS......

Oh yeah, this for 'lightweight' :

    1584052466290IMG_2855.JPG

But of course, they put rear carpet in to offset the weight loss even when there is no back seat.

    Surprisingly not that many. 5.

    GT3RS, GT2RS, 911R, Speedster and the Exclusive.

The 3RS and the 911R are the 991.1.

    Re: 991 Speedster

There are still around 50-60 Speedsters stuck at Exclusive Manufaktur getting their customizing bits.

Those are the last of the 991s and last of which probably won't get shipped out until June.

So in the coming months those highly customized Speedsters will start showing up on the internet.

Good ... because yours is so boring Smiley. Did you have the blonde with you whilst you stalled?

    Re: 991 Speedster

Another instance where blind men guessing the shape of an elephant.

That's not a blonde. My girlfriend is Asian. She just have coloured hair.

And yes, she was with me when during all the stalling.

I think it's a product of a really light flywheel, it may not be the single mass one as in the 911R, that one was a bitch to keep rotating too. But at least the single mass gave enough warning that if I don't adjust it will stall. This one just dies for fun haha.

Congratulations on the car! We just trust you, that the blond one is Asian. Proof would be better but okay... Smiley

The same issue appeared with the first water-cooled 996 Carreras as well, if i remember correctly they made some changes to the Motronic back then.
