If you think the 911 R was in high demand, wait what happens with the Speedster (if the rumored specs are correct)...
I doubt many here will be able to get one but I keep my fingers crossed for each and everyone trying to get one.

JR-550:At my dealer are 15 !!! people on the waiting list, already since more then one year. No chance in hell I am able to get one.
Sure, just get a 918 and a Panamera Hybrid and you will pop up to the top of that list

If it is any consolation, I wouldn't be able to get one either (Speedster). First time for me.

Why? They don't offer leasing for the Speedster?
No, I can't get one (very limited numbers, basically all cars already spoken for...apparently ).
Lease wouldn't be a problem, even got a lease quote for the GT2 RS but not from Porsche (no chance). Was cheaper than I thought though, maybe should have taken the offer (90k down payment, 300 EUR per month, 18 months, 10k km per year).

ARMD009:Is this not a perfect car for you? Sound/Speed/Cab/911? OK to drive in your town?
Yep...would be the perfect car but...impossible to get (not even trying but I know...).

SciFrog:This is ridiculous. They should make as many as they can sell (minus one)...
Well...I agree but then, the limited edition attraction is probably one of the reasons most(?) people want these cars.
Do you really think that Porsche could keep 911 production alive with the current production numbers that long without the limited edition and/or GT models?
Even the Cayenne seems to sell well. My dealer has no cars available anymore for a 2018 delivery. No S and no Turbo.

Definitely.

Boxster Coupe, you’re reading my mind.
But I’m confused. I thought the Speedster was a limited edition Boxster with more HP and manual. This Speedster looks like a GTS cab. What is the attraction? It’s NA? If so not sure I would want one. I like my cars to standout and not look like a zillion other 911’s.
Where the willingness is great, the difficulties cannot be great.

You are mixing your Spyders (Boxster , 718) and Speedsters (911)

Ah, .

A 911 Speedster with GT3 engine and chassis, PDK in R livery would be at the pinacle of 911. Porsche could be selling thousands and thousands of them... And if they added rear seats this single model could be 25% of all 911 sales, so it will never happen...

nberry: imagine that your Porsche 911 GT3 4.0 was a Limited Edition, with identical engine, performance and sound... and looked a bit like this...
...and was called a Speedster!
paulgt3:Dave what a coincidence!!! The US sold F/A-18s to Switzerland and I worked on the Swiss Lab stuff to support those aircraft. The Swiss engineers recognized my last name because there was another Guggenbuehl who taught EE at the Federal institute of Technology in Zurich. My Family is from Meilen in Canton Zurich. I have yet to go there but, its #1 on my bucket list.
Paul , welcome to RT. You have a great buddy in Watt !
I am Swiss , Living in the better part , the French one :-) even if I am originally from the German ( my parents )

Don't bet on PDK for the Speedster...

Try ordering a 991.2 car. Almost impossible to get. We will not see 2018 Cayenne until June in the US which means a fall delivery at best.

Porsche production seems to be at max right now, so I wouldn't worry about them.

paulgt3:Hello folks. My name is Paul Some may know me as Old Guy over at Rennlist. My friend Watt told me I would enjoy it over here. Not so many "I want my headlight ring to match my seatbelt color" GT3 threads here. More drivers. I got my white .2 GT3 in December. I just changed the oil last week in my garage. So I think its time to hit the redline! I have known Grant since our 993 days. This is my 3rd GT3. I had a 996, and a 997 GT3. How do I put my pic in my avatar?
Welcome to RT Paul

No problem! Rennteam runs on a proprietary software that was built from scratch and only RT uses so some things may be different than in other forums and may take a little getting used to at first. If you have any other problems just reach out, glad to help
