    Thinking about a 2005 Carrera S

    I'm really thinking about having one but i live in switzerland. Any of you with experience of a 911 C2S on snow?
    How does it behave?

    My C4 handles great in the snow. Buy a C4S

    Get a C2S with -20mm Sport Suspension with LSD - more fun than AWD!

    LSD with snow tires will give you lots of traction. Not good in deep snow but fine on packed snow or fresh snow less than 3" deep...

    Living in Switzerland I think a C4S -20mm might be a great compromise!

    Interestingly, Gnil, a Swiss Rennteamer, who owns a C4S with -20mm & LSD, has said that, next time, he intends to get a C2S with -20mm & LSD.

    Black over black, PSE can be retrofitted, good mileage and PCCB.. It's located in Belgium but comes with international porsche warranty. If it's not possible to come and collect in Belgium I will be happy to deliver

    The car looks really nice. What i will do is have a test drive over a local dealer to see my impressions over the car. Then, in case i like it, i will let you know if the one you indicated can be an option for me.

    I've got a 2005 C2S with -20mm, PSE, and LSD. The occasions i've been skiing have been fine. Go for it.

    Coincidentally, I also live in Zürich and might be in the market to sell it in a couple of months.. ;-)

    I'm thinking the C4 was made to better sell the car in snowy northern latitudes. Can you find a lot of used C2s in your region or are there many more C4s? That should tell you something.

    Well in here you find everything.
    At the minute...considering the C4S come out a bit later...there are more C2S.

    Darn! I was hoping that would answer the question indirectly and effectively. There's a loss of steering feel with the C4 compared to the C2. I'm on the side of safety these days (in stark contrast to when I was younger ) so I'd probably sacrifice the steering feel and lean toward the C4 if snow and ice coated roads were commonplace. Someday the extra traction might avert a big problem.

    For MMD:
    Relative to the snow i've seen this year i think i could have done it even with a 2 wheel driven car (maybe not with a GT3 since i'm not such a skilled driver).

    On the other hand i have already a 911TT and with it i went everywhere, even on snow pists
