    Cleaning a C2S with an Aerokit ?

    Hello people,

    Ive got a little query regarding washing an Aerokit Cup-equipped C2S. At the back, under the upper area of the wing, there are 2 holes which you can see the engine through (I assume they are for engine cooling). Is it ok for water and soap to get into these when washing the car?

    Also, ive heard that washing the car with a towel result in scratches forming, regardless of if you rinse the car first with water, and that using a peice of leather is much better. True?

    Must be fine for water to get in there, as that's what would happen if it was raining. Or am I missing something here?

    Use a microfibre cloth for drying the body and get a large towel and place it over the engine to act as a cover before you throw any water that way.

    I tend to wash my cars with deionised water and then blow dry them with our dogs blower - essentially a very high power (quarter horse power) hair drier sepcially produced for big shaggy dogs. Gives an excellent result and no chance of scratching with towels/leathers

    Do what I do, which is to put a large towel over the engine under the cover. Just be sure to remember to take it off afterwards!

    Not good to flush that area with water. I avoid it with diligence. Maybe just a little spray, never a stream.

    atomic80's towel idea is excellent. I'd have to tie a red ribbon on the steering wheel to remember I put a towel there.

    Of course being in UAE (lucky guy!) you don't have to be too concerned with water sitting around too long!

    A little water is not bad, but you don't want to douse the thing with a direct stream in the inlet.
