Ok but asking price is one thing... I noticed that when selling the 997, none move as advertised.

If it were up to me I would take the GT3-2/RS allocations from dealer's hands and assign them directly from factory to the clients, create a point system, the more points you have the higher up you are on the list, the more track events you can prove you attended with a 911 the more points you have, the more miles you made your previous 911 the more points you get, if they are GT3/RS miles even more points, the longer you kept your previous GT car the more points, if you sold it before 6 month you loose a ton of points, etc... poseurs and flippers? don't let the door hit you on your a$$ on the way out, thank you. Re: OFFICIAL: 991.2 GT3 RS (2018)

Dave, what reason/reasons did your dealer give for not being able to give you an allocation? Did he say if there is a second batch you will have a better chance?

Carlos, what you're suggesting will never work. Why? Because in the US the dealer is the customer of PCNA not the buyer. The dealer has to make profits on these limited allocation cars and the only way is that you sell to your regular customers who turn the car in for another coveted model as I do. This way the dealer makes money and the sale to the customer and when the customer turns the car back, the dealer sells it yet again often for substantially more than MSRP.

I lived with this while in the Ferrari system and now with Porsche. Honestly, they don't want a lot of miles especially track miles on the turned in cars. They sell for much more. It worked for me because I have accessibility to allocations, I don't loss any significant dollars and I get to enjoy the best cars Porsche has to offer.

To make this work, you cannot get attached to cars. I never have and never will. They provide me immediate enjoyment until Porsche introduces another more exciting model.kiss

They just said that only the VIPs got one and that maybe I could get one next year. I wish I could write that I didn’t care but the fact that it’s 3am here speaks otherwise. Hope it makes their VIP flippers happy.

we have the same here in UAE, tons of cars with delivery miles...still asking a premium which cost more than .2RS where they are expecting like 100 cars split in two dealers... joke! Smiley

    Re: OFFICIAL: 991.2 GT3 RS (2018)

Actually things are different than they were with .1 rs. The VAT played a role and the demand isn’t as big as they think it is. Ordered my GT3 and the dealer mandated that by paying the deposit I will not be able to sell the allocation and must register it under my name. I am glad that this is happening or else I would not have got the  chance to order one this late.

This is an excellent idea. The current system is highly problematical and has destroyed a lot of loyalty of long-term customers. In the next downturn most of those new buyers who seem attractive to the Porsche dealers these days will be gone - as many of them are just there because they think the GT cars "are a good investment". That is nonsense, of course. The GT cars (all of the 991 generation) are mass produced, i.e. many more made then needed in normal times.

Let me clarify. First, you’re right I don’t track my cars. Many years ago I did and I witness many accidents often the good driver trying to evade a bad driver but both cars severally damaged. Today car  insurance companies do not insure damage resulting from on track incidents. There is track insurance available but very expensive especially if you don’t track often. Finally, very few owners of Porsche GT cars track their cars. Those that track often have older models designed exclusively for the track.

I do put miles on my cars. Within a year close to 5000. The GT cars are weekend cars and not DD. But I do find roads that allow me to exercise the car the way it should. FWIW, my last Ferrari which I bought new I turned in with 15,000 miles on it. kiss

    i assume you’re tracking the GT2RS? Good luck. 🍀
