I can confirmed that's HK because I just test drove that very same car last week.

Story of the crash is someone who was test driving the car is unfamiliar with the sheer power and speed. Pity as that car was suppose to be sold very soon.

    Good info Whoopsy, thanks

"News flash: Nissan dealers, in addition to the +$40,000 "market adjustment" being demanded for first orders on the new GT-R, are demanding a $10,000 "tester incompetence fee" for a test drive. For a lower fee, potential buyers will be allowed to pay only $1000 for ten minutes of supervised time on a Playstation Need for Speed Game, driving the new GT-R to its virtual max..."

Whoopsy, I heard from an old friend that another GTR just crashed (carcity one). Hv you heard much? over lunch I went to Richburg in Wan Chai and looked at the GTR. Honestly... it was humungous and the size of a GT and I wasn't very impressed with the shape and the interior. It's very typical Japanese but they are charging a premium for 1.2 mil. I walked over to Maserati next door and fell in love with the Gran Turismo. I rather take that.

    Re: GT-R Crash...

I left HK Wednesday, so the black one is the only one I know of. But if another one crashed so soon, one has to wonder if the car IS the problem or the unexperienced drivers were to be blamed.

I am not sure about the rosy reviews the car gets from mags, but you don't hear people crashing 2 997TT within a week when it first came out or any other high power cars for that matter, heck even the EVOs and WRXs don't crash so often, and they are suppose to be the pocket rockets that people dash around town with.

I agreed with the supersized dimensions, it feels like a tank more than a car and the Maser is one attractive car.

    Re: GT-R Crash...

So because 2 cars crash you are then writing off the GT-R as unsafe. That is a very simple way
    of judging.

All depends on who is driving the car, I've read of professional racing car drivers not
"armchair experts" saying that the 997 is nervous on the limit.

Lets wait until we see more professional reviews before we make judgment. Sport Auto ect.

    Re: GT-R Crash...

    O hi vinnie

I am not writing it off as unsafe per se, but just that it maybe too much car for your typical mortal driver to handle, professionals are a different story, see mag reviews.

997TT is nervous near the limit, no question about it, it's a warning sign to mortals to back off before it's too late, it takes a true professional like WR to extract all the performance from the car.
