Saving $1000 so far. Would buy you dinner next time I'm in S.Cal Smiley

Now that a free dinner lurks, I will try and earn one.

Go away from all that exterior color matching and contrast stitch thing in the interior.

Thats bad taste like a beautiful woman with too much (colorful) make up.

It is a drivers car after all. You can do the air vents in all black leather (like me :) ) which still looks perfectly (black)plain but with an enhanced material look. This way you can enjoy that you did something special, but without the expense of going tasteless.

Less (color) is more in this case.

Did not earn you $s but still think the advice is worth a dinner next time you are in Germany...

    Check this for reference:

    1522959560680Lamelle links 2.jpg

For some reason in the GT3 configurator, the leather vents includes painting the slats with exterior color. I will check with the dealer if I can  get what you have.  My issues is that I am speccing a car in my home country, and I'm currently in the US which means I have to delegate all this to someone I trust.

The main options I want to add is the deviated stitching and the carbon fiber trim. Every other option is up for debate and dinner! Smiley

The vents in black leather are a nice touchkiss That being said, Pilots red vents are spectacular

    AP911:

So I'm putting my order for a GT3 T in this weekend, still have time to think about what options I want.

This is the look I'm after:

The Interior would be black with full leather dash and the following:

    1. Yellow deviated stitching and yellow seatbelts

    2. Painted Air Vent Slats (Sapphire blue with leather surrounding and yellow stitching). I've never seen this in person.

    3. Instrument Dials in White and Chrono clock in white.

What do you guys think of the 2nd and 3rd options? I like option 2 as it eliminates the plastic with deviated stitching leather but is the blue slats too much? For option 3, I could go either way, if option 2 stays then to reduce the number of colors I could stay with the default dial colors.

    Really appreciate your feedback. Thanks

On the GT3 If you will order first 2 options together you will have different color stitching on vents surroundings. If you want to have stitching on vents surroundings in the same yellow you will have to go with CXX option.

    Re: OFFICIAL: New 991.2 GT3 (2017)

Btw, the Shapphire Blue is a spectacular color.. Had it on my 2017 Targa. Many compliments. kiss

FYI. All leather vents is a CXX option for the GT3.

Correct. I tried for mine but they would not do it, but thankfully in the end relented on contrast stitching on a Touring.

    Re: OFFICIAL: New 991.2 GT3 (2017)

The 911 Carrera T vs the GT3 Touring indicates exactly what we all know already: the ultimate car is a GT3 Touring with PDK... This manual cult is becoming quite ridiculous in this decade... I like manual and owned two of them until recently (one now) but time moves on. Manual only makes sense on vintage cars... It is like perfecting using a flip phone when the entire world has moved to smart phones...

    Re: OFFICIAL: New 991.2 GT3 (2017)

One could look at it as 'having your future classic / vintage car now' (and new)?

Thanks for confirming my doubts. One would expect if deviated stitching is chosen then it will be used for all stitching options. I might save $3,000 and forgo the deviated stitching. I will submit my order tomorrow and will know if Sapphire blue possible or the rumors are true that it is getting discontinued. That would be a shame.

This is one of the main reasons I want it. In 20 years, PDK will be old and slow but a good manual will still be good. I wanted to get a 993 but couldn't convince myself. With the Touring, I didn't need convincing myself, it just feels right.

Thanks guys. Really appreciate your feedback. It does take a village to spec a 911.

About the air wents. The option leaves you now the choice if any of the existing colors. You don’t have to go with exterior color. On my Green RS I also took the leather around the wents and asked for black painted vents. On my .1 RS i had to go with orange vents ,  could not do black at that time

They look much better than the plastic ones and tie in with the other leather in the cabin.

Mine are painted black as I did not want to have them in the PTS color. dont liket the look of slat colored.

you can have them black without going CXX. option name is CDN.

Thanks Gnil. Found that I could leave a note specifically for that option, told them to paint it black. Finalized my build and saved $4,000+ after removing deviated stitching and white dials. I chose the yellow seat belts instead to give the interior some color. Will find out tomorrow if Sapphire Blue exterior is possible.

I am assuming the full leather interior was optioned rather than alcantara. Then it would make more sense. Would the slots be in leather?

    Haha!

No accounting for taste.  Why on this very thread stitching colors are being discussed.  Nothing wrong with a manual, or a flip phone - they're actually more secure than smart onesSmiley

Full disclosure though -- both Sun and Sky have PDKSmiley. .......and Sun even has mandatory Red Stitching, courtesy of Porsche Aus-NZSmiley

Correct. Leather slats is then an additional request!

The Touring option removes most of the Alcantara..... I think only the roof remains in Alcantara.

evHmms9NQGqK%YC0Ygv1lg.jpgFinally I picked up the car yesterday at my Porsche dealer together with my wife. The weather was brilliant, it couldn't have been better. I'm already in love with the car, it looks fantastic in person, the manual adds an additional layer of connection with the car, you enjoy it more at normal speeds where as the PDK always begs you to push. The engine seems to be more torquey than the 4litre from the .1 RS, it already pulls more in the lower rev band and also sounds "meatier". I adhere to APs break-in recommendation so did not go over 5000 rpm yet but it feels so linear. When you start it up it really crackles to live, you hear the throttle valves opening and closing very well when using sport mode while downshifting (similiar to my former RS). Only the clatter on idle has gone which is a bit less characterful than before.

Overall I'm very pleased, I will use the good weather over the whole weekend to put some kilometers on it. Interestingly I also had too much tyre pressure as Porker experienced as well when picking up the car. The rear end felt a little bit "agile", now back to normal.

    Mike

    Re: OFFICIAL: New 991.2 GT3 (2017)

BTW the rear wing deploys depending on your driving style, it's not just programmed to pop up at a certain speed threshold

    Re: OFFICIAL: New 991.2 GT3 (2017)

    Re: OFFICIAL: New 991.2 GT3 (2017)

More Viper than Lizard in my eyes. Even a hint of RS green...

    Re: OFFICIAL: New 991.2 GT3 (2017)

It‘s Viper, Lizard is currently exclusive to the.2 RS. Viper is deeper than Lizard which looked a bit washed out like Lava orange when I saw it in Geneva.

    Re: OFFICIAL: New 991.2 GT3 (2017)

    Absolutly stuning combo. angel

Can you please share the all configuration?
