This place needs a nice pic

Here is a 928 that looks awesome, the owner could have chosen a better backdrop, but the car is sweet. Still to me one of the coolest designs ever and awesome sound too with a custom exhaust.

Re: This place needs a nice pic

    low and wide

Re: This place needs a nice pic

    racerx,

Are you in Washington? I see WA license plates.

Re: This place needs a nice pic

    I agree.
The 928 looks fantastic, and this one is superb. I do not see it often in black.
Each time I see a car like this I think I should buy one... They will be classics.

Re: This place needs a nice pic

I saw a beautiful white 928 this morning still going strong. Great car

No Atomic, that 928 belongs to someone else in WA state. Mine is meteor metallic.

I have settled in the Greenville, SC area after a long search for land on which to build my home and garage with a lift. I saw a silver 997tt last night here.

Yes, a classic that can be driven and rewards you with contemporary performance (85-95). A 928 with updated modern wheels (wide rubber) handles like a slot car.

I love seeing a 928 on the road, pictures don't really show the shape. It is a rare sight.

Re: This place needs a nice pic

mine, i will update to 18's when I am settled in the new house. My exhaust tips are now twin stainless as is the whole exhaust. sounds unreal

Re: This place needs a nice pic

How do you like Greenville, SC, so far?

It has the best combination of factors for living in the US that I can think of. Weather, natural setting, cost of living, activities and amenities, economic base, etc....

I can see the mountains from my land in a private gated community on a nice lake.

Looks great. Every year, we travel to Myrtle Beach, SC for a week of golf.

How's the house building progress going so far? I'm also in the middle of building a house here in Newport Beach,CA.

Re: This place needs a nice pic

Some slowness by paperpusher's but it should go relatively quick. The lot is very nice with 2 large existing trees that will center the entance to the house. I am going to enjoy driving the 928 between them and parking in front of what I think will be a very beautiful home. The 928 will look appropriate there.

Another shot of downtown greenville, the bridge as it is lit up every night 50 feet above the river, quite a sight.

You live there? I've seen a documentary on the Discovery channel twice now, featuring that bridge .

Yes it's a nice place and a european feel to the downtown area and close to the mountains and lots of curvy roads.

Re: This place needs a nice pic

I love the 928, but the black one in your openingpost is IMO an example of serieus lack of taste...

Why would someone combine the lovely and utterly gorgeous '70s design of the 928 with the modern 2001 wheels of a 996TT :?

It's like dressing Michelle Pfeiffer like a 16 year old pretty girl, or something... i.e. not done!

beautiful indeed.. perfect for late night romantic walk. greenville looks really nice.. Reminds me of Victoria, BC Canada.
best wishes in your new home!

Re: This place needs a nice pic

I want to say that the 928 is to me a car I would consider buying. The V8 is suberb too. I drove once the 1995 GTS,,,What a car...
    Thanks for the pictures

Re: This place needs a nice pic

I always liked the 928. Front engine, great design. I hope they come up with a new 928 some day. I'd buy it.

Re: This place needs a nice pic

First time attempting to paste a hosted picture. I'm biased (and miss my 928), but here's another nice pic:

Because the handling becomes unbelievable. Going from 16x7 to 18x10.5 is a BIG difference in footprint. That is where all the great cornering ability comes from on today's new cars.

The 928 has the width, the low center of gravity, and the suspension (double wishbone + weissach), all it lacked was the modern performance tires. In fact my stock tires actually look inappropriate for such a wide car.

MP might look good in a tube top.
