    are you sure about 8.24 min, I hear it was 8.26 min.

    That's actually pretty quick. Quicker than I thought. Has the V8 M3 and C63 been tested yet? Obviously they will be faster, but I can't imagine they would be that much faster than this?

    M3 V8 did it in 8.05 min and RS4 did it in 8.09 min, both tested with R-tires. C63 has been tested as well but its not officiell yet but the rumour says its between Rs4 and M3, also with R-tires.

    S5 is in fact on pair with BMW 335i around N-ring (8.26 min).

    Disappointing numbers. RS5 won't be able to beat the M3.

    Not too sure about that. I'd really like to hear about the conditions in which the run was made. Was it wet, cold, dry, warm? We should always keep that in mind when comparing.

    I agree Kreso, the numbers are pretty good. I thought the S5 was more of a GT car than a sports car anyway. How much faster would it be with R tyres? 10 seconds around the North Loop?

    R tires are not recommended for S5(no dry sump). But, with new Pirelli P Zero The Hero tires(same one that are standard equipment on R8) around 8:20min is possible...

    Seeing how the air temperature was 10* Celsius and asphalt temperature barely 18, this doesn't seem like a bad result at all. Also, a very comfortable all-weather cruiser with AWD and 1700+ kg can't be expected to perform miracles. Respectable performance.

    For my education, they mentioned 10*C for Hockenheim (see in brackets) , what about the N'bring temperature ? Are they running both tests the same day (I doubt) ?
