Rick, I'm not sure why your service manager/salesperson were so against using these. FYI, the Tooki uses the OEM phone module from Porsche modified to accept Bluetooth connections. Mine works great with my Blackberry Curve. I've heard that there's issues however in getting these to work with Windows Mobile phones.
Atomic80,
It's been awhile since I've been on the board. I now have about 4K miles on my cobalt TT. On prior carrera's I had the PCM package including the multifunctional steering wheel. All in all performance was pretty disappointing. Functionally the PCM paled in comparison to most of the German and Japanese cars I've owned. Don't get me wrong I love my TT and wouldn't give it up for these concerns.
With that said, I was determined to go after market on my new TT for phone, satellite and ipod features. So far most of the options I have researched have compromises. I've looked at Nav-TV and Dennison units. I got to believe that some new units with better integration are on the horizon. Ideally, I like to be able to have the satellite integrate like the Cayenne unit did and the phone have better noise cancellation and voice recognition. Actually I can't believe that Porsche hasn't worked this out already.
The Tooki unit is a step up but I'm wondering if anyone knows more about what's to come? Also think iphone.
