    the reason is part aerodynamics and part pimp styling, probably because markets like california demand it, in fact they even think it's not "pumped up" enough and they add chrome wheels, crazy body mods etc

    Basically it's amazing how these cars have transformed. "Pumped up" Turbo looks a million miles away from the 3.2 Carrera (center) and contrasts even the contemporaneous 997 Carrera on top.

    Just chatting. No big deal. Though I think I'm forever in love with the slimmer, less trendified 3.2.

    I'm with MMD, I definitely like the old one(s) better. I think the current Turbo is one of the ugliest cars Porsche has built. Cleans up sort of well with a different set of wheels, and I like the notion of simplifying it with GT2 facework.

    I'm hoping that some future TT facelift will make the car more Porsche-like and less like the batmobile.

    I think the batmobile look is what most "car guys" want (not anybody _I_ know ).

    Thankfully Porsche has resisted somewhat (IMO) going full blast down that BM road.

    Check out this comp; except for the fggn wing (which I "hate" on mine) the TT looks acceptably non-BM.
