Engine Coolant & Oil mixing.. help!!!!!

I have a 99 Porsche 996 non-turbo. The Coolant has turned in to a caramel colored mixture. I Don't get any White smoke out the tail pipes plus two mechanics including the dealer has told me that the motor is fine, one machanic did a compression test and the dealer who opened the motor to its guts told me they couldn't find whats wrong with it. All they recommend is replacing the engine which is alot of $$$$.. need help please.. anyone who has had a similar problem please let me know of any ideas that you may have that can cause this to occur.

Sounds like bad head gasket to me (this was a cause of that in 944T)...

You have a porus bloc, comun problem on the M96 engines. Make a search an you'll find alot of info about this issue. Dealer is right, only solution is a new engine.

You have no option but to get a new engine. One of the problems encountered with the 99 is porous cylinders that cause an intermix problem. You mix the coolant with the oil and it destroys all the bearings and internal parts. Sorry to hear this...go to Rennlist and search "Intermix" and you'll read all about it. Some guys have researched new crate engines as a replacement...contact either Kevin at UMW or Steven Kaspar at Imagine Auto....they know the ropes on this subject. Truly sorry to hear this. Will cost you around $12-15K depending upon who does it and where the engine comes from. Can also order crate engine from Sunset...$8K or so. Give Jeff Clark at Sunset Porsche in Oregon a call.

i have 2001 carrera 996 i have the same problem caramel in the coolant, i need help to fix this issue

New engine, I'm afraid.

I don't think an exchange engine with warranty from Porsche is too expensive and it is the only safe way to go.
