Bridgestone RE960 Pole Position Tires/Misleading
I replaced the Michelin Pilots last year with the Bridgestone Re 960 Pole Position tires. These tires 1) maintain a higher treadwear rating, 2) ride much smoother than Pilots, 3) are 1/2 the price and, 4) have a 40,000 mileage warranty.
After 18,000 miles the inside portion (due to the 911 camber) started to wear. I learned that the warranty doesn'y pay for the entire tires, but only the PRORATED portion. Basically Bridgestone maintained that the tires were at 50% of the warranty period, thus they paid for 50% of the cost. Somewhat shady/misleading, but worked out better than me paying full price for the tires.
Would highly recommend these tires to all my 911 owner friends here.
