    Gallardo Facelift

A timeline chart of forthcoming cars in 2008 in Auto Motor und Sport suggests the info my dealer gave me regarding the Gallardo facelift is correct.

    Re: Gallardo Facelift

yeah I was told the same thing by the guys at South kessington, scapping of the A8 switches on the fascia, replaced with need Lambo switches

    What else will be changed?

Is the DI-engine already part of the facelift?

    Re: Gallardo Facelift

I was told by my dealer to expect a power hike of between 10 and 15% which is pretty substantial. According to an interview given by the head of development at Audi, Ulrich Hackenberg, the R8 will donate its rear suspension and a number of other unspecified components to the Gallardo as part of the face-lift.

    Re: Gallardo Facelift

my local dealer just specced a couple of Gallardos for 2008 delivery... should I assume he's getting the face-lifted version!!!

    Re: Gallardo Facelift

I wouldn't think they will be. As far as I'm aware the face lift will be unveiled in Geneva in March with deliveries starting at some point in the summer, most likely towards September as 09 model year cars I'd suspect.

    Re: Gallardo Facelift

I don't think so. Facelifted Gallardo will arrive as MY09 in late June as I've been told by my dealer.

    Re: Gallardo Facelift

mmm... i am sure that a DI will be part of the facelift, but i still doubt they will make visual changes....

    Re: Gallardo Facelift

    How many hp?? 580??

    Re: Gallardo Facelift

How many FL will follow? The Gallardo already had far too many FL. Now, another one

Lamborghini has a bad reputation: your car will be old as soon as you picked it up from the dealer... Not for me, thanks

Well, with 15% extra power, I wouldn't complain . I wonder how fast it will be, with 580-610 bhp .

    Markus,
Basically you are wrong. Gallardo did not have any facelift, just engine and gearbox upgrade from MY2006. Interior changes were pretty minor-just different inlays on steering wheel.

Gallardo SE and NERA were just limiting editions... NOT a facelifted models...

In Geneva we will see first true facelift(both minor changes to the exterior and mechanical upgrade).

    Re: Gallardo Facelift

Likely the Gallardo handling will benefit from Audi's R&D capabilities. It is a beautiful car as it is, but I wish they would replace its Audi sourced insturment cluster with something unique.

I think these numbers are too high. Not enough room for the Murciélago then. With the stronger version of the R8 with around 500hp, I expect the Gallardo to get something like 560hp.

Was told that the FL will be out next year after the Geneva show as a MY09 sept deliveries, power increase won't be that much 530hp as in the SL. changes will be made to the rear and front lights, fascia switches will be completely from A8 switches to AUDI specific switches. I'm sure DFI will be a must

I see. Obviously the horse power war comes to an end finally. Ferrari plans the same, by keeping the current power output but making their cars more lightweight.

    Re: Gallardo Facelift

Makes sense, really. With these cars reaching 300 km/h in under 40 seconds already and having top speeds of close to 320 km/h, it would make sense to just reduce the weights, instead of adding even more power. 600 bhp would be nice, though .

Sure. You can never have enough (money and hp that is).

With 600hp it would be faster than the Murcielago... Thus, simple conclusion: the current Gallardo will never get that much hp

    Good joke my friend

First version with some 500hp (based on memory).
    Second version with 520hp.
    Third version: Superleggera.
    Fourth version: FL...

Nothing unusual for Lamborghini, though. Same problem with Diablo, Murcielago etc.

Consequently, the residual values of these cars is very bad. I mean, who wants to own a Superleggera in some months when another FL will have been launched? Even now these cars are available in large quantities. You basically go to your dealer and get a Superleggera within 4 weeks

Why not, if the Murcielago SV is on the horizon ?

The SV will be a limited edition, based on what I heard

Yes, but Lamborghini has so many limited/special editions of their cars, it's almost hackneyed.

    Re: Gallardo Facelift

That was always same Lamborghini since old days. As usual

    Countach S
    Countach LP400
    Countach LP500SS
    Countach DD
    etc
    Diablo
    Diablo GT/GT-R
    Diablo SV
    Diablo Jota
Diablo Gandini's cousin's 25th year marriage anniversary bla bla
    Murcie
Murcie 25 or 30th anniversay with crap green blue color
    LP640

Deep not: Some of Murcie owners say that old 2002-03 Murcies are slightly faster than 2004 ones. Dunno why??

    And..
Gallardo didnt have any facelift since built as Kreso mentioned it was an improvement on engine and tranny

SL is different story it is the hardcore version of the car

NERA imo it was unnecessary but there are many regular Gallardos look like Nera's

SE the best imo that black roof was the best think on G

    And new G

Yes it is the right time with %10 gain and %10 reduce weight

    Re: Gallardo Facelift

would the Superleggera get the 10% power bump too? just imagine, a car that weighs the same as an F430 but has the power of a Murcielago! DAMN!

No, I don't think they will increase the power of the SL in order not to upset current owners. i guess it's too soon.
