    SciFrog:

    That clearly hasn’t worked...

Well for the flipping it seems to have to some extent, at least the will have to wait a year to sell it and not flip it inmediately as with the GT3RS/991R, so its riskier to buy one for profit since you never know what the resale price will be in a year. Now the problem is that the demand far exceeds supply and people are willing to pay over MSRP for it which is another matter.

    Re: OFFICIAL: 911 GT2 RS (2017)

How do you explain all the allocation trading and there will be dozens of cars for sale within a month... Works very well...

    Re: OFFICIAL: 911 GT2 RS (2017)

AFAIK when a GT2RS is ordered it has to be to the person taking delivery and that person can't sell it within a year or incur in a 150k penalty, at least that is the way here in Spain which I suppose it is the same ROW

I'm guessing the problem is who the dealer allows to put his name for the available allocations and that is were the extra $ on top of the MSRP comes in, or having to buy another Porsche like a Panamer on top, etc.

    Re: OFFICIAL: 911 GT2 RS (2017)

As I posted elsewhere, my dealer doesn't charge ADM. But he has been receiving calls from in state and out of state people offering over $200,000 for an allocation. Understandably, my dealer is seriously considering charging ADM for the GT2RS. I just hope he doesn't apply the same to the GT3RS. If so, I'm out.

$200K premium. LOL. People are nuts.

    Re: OFFICIAL: 911 GT2 RS (2017)

To some, $200k is funny money, play money with no meaning, they don't want to play the games (like buying cars they don't need to secure allocation), they don't want to wait or kiss their dealer's behind, they just want the car and play with it for a while until the novelty is gone.

Then they get rid of it with no second thoughts whether they lost or made money on it.

Well said. To some people, $200,000 is chump change. To others myself included, we prioritize value regardless if we have several million or a few thousand. I would never pay beyond the value of any article.

I agree with both points above. Guys we’re buying additional cars here in hope of securing a GT3 ( not RS ) which is silly. And some were saying it’s actually cheaper just to pay overs on a flipped one.

    It’s  all gone nuts.

Carlos, I thought the same when I discussed with my dealer about taking delivery of a GT2 RS but it seems that Porsche does not give any guidelines on how to deal with flippers and stuff like that, Porsche dealers are free to do as they please. At least in Germany. That whole "you have to keep the car for 6 months..." thing seems not to be Porsche's idea since other dealers handle this stuff differently.

So while I heard that Porsche isn't happy with flippers, they may not take the whole thing as seriously as many may think. There can't be any other explanation on why so many cars are offered over list.

That's too bad, I would have hoped it was the same in all countries and not just this particular dealer that I know of, Porsche should really grow a parir and deal with the flippers...

I think that in Switzerland you must lease the car for a minimum of one year.

In Sweden they want you to keep the car but they can't stop you flipping it. But if the dealer suspects that the will be a garage queen or flipped then they are told to turn down that customer.

That friend I told you about, the one who wants the GT2 RS, he owns tons of cars, has a collection, keeps them in a rented building (hall). He drives them all, he doesn't collect them for money, he loves his cars and badly wanted a GT2 RS (he already owns a 911 Turbo S). My dealer even sent a mail to the Porsche CEO but no way. Smiley

People like him deserve to get a GT2 RS because they are the best brand ambassadors for Porsche.
He also owns a Carrera GT...

Exactly. Porsche seems to know very little ( or certainly not enough) about some of its best customers. I know its much easier for Ferrari because they have a fraction of the volume, but they have a pretty detailed CRM system that keeps track of who owns what and how long they keep their cars etc.

    Re: OFFICIAL: 911 GT2 RS (2017)

It's a real stunner - I have seen it live in 5 different colors now and black with the weissach looks fantastic. Still would take the silver/weissach but that is just me !

    Re: OFFICIAL: 911 GT2 RS (2017)

I saw silver at Goodwood and it looked really good - much better in person I'd say.

If it's funny money, then why would they even want something so low end? Surely there is much more exciting stuff in the $1-5M range, no?

white, yellow, silver, black, calc - quite a while already ago - all factory cars from Weissach Motorsport division - no pics they take yr phone at the reception laugh- but all looked the business - it's as flashy as a 911 get - and NO I do not agree with RC on the noise side - it sounds epic.....actually very loud....indecision
