yes, this is how they called them: rose-joints.

the GT3.2 is equipped with it for the front axle but Porsche never advertised it.

Nick posted some picture of this also.

interested to see if they go further for the RS and installed them as well on the rear axle...

The picture I posted of the GT3 was of the rear suspension.

Last generation of the GT3RS didn't have those. .2GT3 is the first to receive them and now they use it on the .2GT3RS.

But if I read the press release correctly, Porsche means they are now using those on the FRONT suspension too. Which wasn't the case in the .2 GT3.

    Re: OFFICIAL: 991.2 GT3 RS (2018)

BTW, all magazines received 991.2 GT3 RS press material. Intro was planned for today.

IF Porsche really postponed intro for 22nd then they are well... Dumb. Do they really believe that car media will withhold info for 16 days? In EU even price list was in press package...

there is a hold on price list as well...till the 21st.

there is some unforeseen event going on to change such  refined plan

    Re: OFFICIAL: 991.2 GT3 RS (2018)

I am struggling to see if I want one.

I do want it, but not badly.

From the outside, it looks 95% like a GT2RS, all the aero bits are the same except the front bumper.

The inside, not counting the Turbo S Exclusive, it will be the same as my 911R, the GT3, the GT2RS and my old GT3RS. And the up coming Speedster, if/when they release it. Porsche hasn't really touch the interior at all except the PCM unit.

I re-read it again and I was partially wrong too. Unless the English translation of the German press release is wrongly worded.

The solid suspension joints on the .2 GT3 is definitely new, which I imagine will be on the GT3RS. But the press release specifically says the rear steering system, so I think they are talking about the connections for the steering system, the arms that move the hub are rose joints, which according to the press release the .1 already had them and they are using the same setup for the .2 GT3RS. Which doesn't make sense as why would they highlight something that's not new?

Not on the suspension bits, those have bushings. But the steering arm? I don't remember and I don't have a car to crawl under to look anymore.

I think they were already like this back then

    dscf3848.jpg

Can someone with a .1 GT3RS crawl under your car and check the rear steering components? Smiley

It seems that the 991.2 GT3 RS gets a particulate filter, probably why they increased capacity but barely increased power. Very strong rumor that production (in high numbers) will continue past September 2018.

    Good news...I guess...if true.

I really like what Porsche did with this new 991.2 GT3 RS. I'm sure it will find many happy owners in Switzerland  and around the world! kiss I thought all morning what the green color reminded me of and I finally realized it's this ^ 997 car.

Still the same capacity , 4 l.  Unless everything we read today was wrong.

Delivering the RS with a particule filter makes sense business wise . But personally I am not happy for the moment.

Always the same rumors , always the same delivery. We should know better

looks better, but all the green from the interior should be removed. i am a total sucker for the newest and greatest, but this .2RS leaves me very cold and makes me like my .1RS all the better even:::)))) if i was in for a porsche replacement of the 1.RS i would have saved a lot of money now:::)))

    Re: OFFICIAL: 991.2 GT3 RS (2018)

I had an interest in the RS.2 but given the specifications, it appears Porsche designed this car almost exclusively for the track. I don't track cars or if I do it will be infrequent. I don't see how this car can attract those who already own a GT3.2 and don't track often.yes

It provides a nice contrast to a manual touring spec .2GT3, but I agree not to a PDK for someone  who does not track the car.

I like it but do I need to upgrade compare to my not yet delivered GT3.2 manual ?

tough decision but as of now, not yet convinced. yes

forget the production number or whatever attached to value...it is not the purpose of the car.angry

driving experience will sure be a step-up compare to anything produced before.
