Could you tell us what it is saying regarding those inserts from the front diffusor ?
    • The front axle downforce can be raised by removing both insets on the diffusor duct. Must be carried out with adjusting the rear wing to 5 degrees
    • Replace the rear wing fastening screws whenever they are loosened
    • It is not permissible to adjust the rear wing with a steep angle on public roads
    • After track use bring the rear wing to the standard setting -1 degree

That's the first thing I did to my GT2RS, crank the wing all the way down and remove the 2 plastic inserts.

But even with the wing all the way down, it isn't noticeable compared to a normal angle wing.

I had the same experience. Maybe because the speed on a track is not that high most of the time

When I was at the Ring with the guys, the insert wasn't removed and the wing was at normal height. I only adjust those when the car came back to Canada and once I had them off and gone on my track, I really don't feel much improvement  if at all.

Granted the circuits are completely different and so was weather, I still suspect the gain would be at the very limit of the car and only noticeable by their own pros. Heck, even with the 'extra' front downforce, I don't really notice any difference in turn-ins, or mid corner front end grip for that matters.

What are talking exactly about with the front diffusor duct ? The part underneath the car , next to the front wheels ( there is a piece that you can remove ) or the mesh on the front upper wings ?

--- After reading Whoopsy ' s reply I believe it is the upper mesh . I had that also removed as well as put the wing on full downforce . The guy at MR say it is the first thing to do when you get an RS .  Don't how how much that part changed my car but I did at the same time a new alignment / geometry and the car is even more planted now , better at corner entry . I guess change of wing has to be done in conjunction with chassis alignment .

I wonder if that recommendation about not having the wing on full downforce when on public roads has something to do with respecting  fuel mesures / co2 emissions .  Does not make any sense otherwise .

Some of the guidelines I don't understand also, like recommended tire pressure for the rear is 2.5 bar. Here is an illustration showing what they mean by "front diffusor duct"

    Bildschirmfoto 2020-05-18 um 12.26.15.png

    Re: OFFICIAL: 991.2 GT3 RS (2018)

Thanks . That was the other part I was thinking of . I have come across  debates about removing it or not .

By removing it you gain some front downforce . MR advices not to take it off, as for them you then have too much downforce at the front .

The 2.5 tire pressure your are referring to must be the one for the Michelin Cup R . That tire does indeed need a higher pressure then the regular Cup 2

Funny that you mention this: In Germany, I am always considered close to right wing (extremely conservative) with my political views but in the US, some call me a liberal. Smiley Smiley OK, some Americans call the Democrats socialists, so I guess no surprise here. Smiley

I tested as a libertarian. Been one for as long as I can remember.  They all lie and will do anything to keep power. The American government was conceived to keep these two forces in check and not allow them to do much of anything. It’s worked for us for hundreds of years. In the US libertarians are very conservative - small government, pro states rights, pro constitution and defender of personal rights. They are not right wing authoritarian or anything like that.  When one views the platform it is very hard to find anything objectionable. At least to me.

Just completed my latest project: good friend of mine asked if I could wrap his .2 GT3 RS, and gave me 'carte blanche'. So I made an homage of the Kremer/Vaillant 935 with a special touch in the back. He loved it 🍻

    Re: OFFICIAL: 991.2 GT3 RS (2018)

Dave and I did a comparaison of our cars after I heard rumors saying the cars with particulate filters are slower then the ones without.

    Dave's car has the filter , mine doesn't .

We lined up  on the Nordschleife at the beginning of the straight under the bridge at 80km/h in 3rd gear and then accelerated fully.

Until 6th gear and about 240 km/h we were exactly the same speed. But then Dave's car started slowly to pull away, about 1 car length by the time we reached the end of the straight.

His car has probably more HP then mine. Cars with particulate filters are definitely not slower.

I was quite surprised about this. Mine had just over 9k km on, Gnil’s around 20k. We used PDK sport in auto mode to keep things consistent.

Never took the opportunity to post these pics. Ran the car in on the way up to Spa end of June and experienced my first track day ever. Speechless to say the least, amazing experience and realisation that I'm not even close to being capable of exploiting the true potential of this absurd machine. Being an October 2019 model, its got OPF installed and kills the low end growl which might be a turn off at slower speed however its perfectly fine on track and spirited driving.
