The GT3 clutch worked pretty easy, don't quite understand what this has to do with "driveability" of the car.

I'm also not sure why somebody would want to choose between a GT3 and a Vantage, these are two COMPLETELY different cars.

    i didn't mention ''driveability'' did i?

i'm choosing between the Vantage & GT3 mainly because the CGT fills the weekend fun car spot already. no matter how good the GT3 is it's still not CGT. that's why i'm considering a COMPLETELY different car.

Why not buy the Turbo then? Can't get any more different than that.

Thanks RC for the great review and videos. This is what makes Rennteam special, all the events covered with excellent video and pics to boot.

Who else was at the launch, Was this a customer launch hosted by a Porsche Centre or Porsche itself?

How is the new interior, is it overdone with so much suede or is it just right. I liked the look of the 996 GT3RS with just the driving tools in suede, steering wheel, Gearknob and Handbrake leaver.
The seats look real cool, now theirs a reason not to scrap the "one size fits all" seats.

Dear RC, this week is my last chance to spec. a GT3, the third and last one which my dealer will get for this year... I got a question which I'm hoping you can answer for me (it's been raised before, but no clear answer)... the Sport Chrono Package on the GT3, is it just a stop-watch, or does it cause an engine re-map and quicker throttle response as in the Carrera S? thanks...

I'm not RC, but Sport Chrono is just a stopwatch in the GT3. The "Sport" button comes standard in GT3 without needing Sport Chrono option (or any other option) and it does the good stuff...

    oups! sorry, and thanks :-)

    Re: Rennteam 997 GT3 Driving - Pictures & Video

Can any one help me on the following in connection with the GT3 997?

    1. What is the ground clearance of the GT3 997. I am little worried about the "sleeping policeman" in London and also driving up a small ramp before getting to my drive. I have not experienced any problems with 997s

    2. What are the main differences between suspension of
    the 997s against the 997 GT3.

    3. Is the Michelin pilot sport cup tyre the standard tyre. I understand that two tyres are available. What is the other tyre and how do they differ?

    Regards
    Lu

    Re: Rennteam 997 GT3 Driving - Pictures & Video

wish there was a track in my country... with the exception of the police-free highways! hehehe

    Re: Rennteam 997 GT3 Driving - Pictures & Video

    1. 30mm lower than the std 997 Carerra 2 / 2S. Still used PASM however for good ride.
    2. Same basic layout, but many detail differences, tuned differently and adjustable on GT3. If your asking these quesitons, you would need to bother with the adjustments, but idea is you can adjust it for specific track days
    3. Michelin or Pirelli semi slick tyres.
    Hope this helps.

    Re: Rennteam 997 GT3 Driving - Pictures & Video

No, 20mm lower than the C2S (with PASM) and 10mm lower than a C2S with -20mm sports suspension.

    Re: Rennteam 997 GT3 Driving - Pictures & Video

good report! i felt very similar about the GT3 when I first test drove it here in Stuttgart. I was amazed by how direct, responsive and true the feeling of it is! I cant really agree on the sound. I think, especially with SPORT on the sound cant get much better. The Carrera might be louder at standstill and when drivin off but when u really push the throttle in the GT3 it sounds soo much meaner..
Also, the understeer u mentioned is especially noticable when the tires are cold. after heating up it get a lot better, however applying the throttle takes care of that anyways..;)
    GREAT GREAT car..!
