Look, I don't know what to say to you. A short time ago you started a thread that you were shocked at the thousands of fine scratches on your car. I tried in the past to give you recommendations that I honestly think will help you but you seem pretty set in your ways. Good luck.
You're very kind, but don't worry about me. I consider what you're saying and no doubt will be running over this line of reasoning next time I spend some time washing/waxing/wiping my car; Thank you for your thoughts. Anyway, I don't worry toooooo much, my cars always look great to me (and everybody I know who sees them), but if in concours exhibition they might not do so well.
I STILL do not understand "THE" logic for speed shine, and other mfgrs equivalents.
Leave your absolutely clean car out in the driveway for an _hour_ in springtime and it will be coated with tree _sap_ and pollen.
Note: the "sap" is water soluble, not the sticky, gooey stuff, but it comes from the trees though and sticks to the car in _tiny_ little droplets; like a mist.
Do a california dusting and then run your hand over the paint. It's _rough_ from the tree sap! What do you do? Speedshine over it? Or do you wipe it off with a damp terry towel?
I'll have to learn more about the "special lubricant" in Speed Shine-like products which prevent scratching paint.
Maybe I'll get a gallon size of Speed Shine and dampen my dozen terry towels with it before I "lift" the dirt off while turning frequently (100s of times).
Would be fun (but i'll never do it) to get two perfect sheets of plexiglass and see what it takes to scratch them (Speed Shine vs. "lift"ing damp towels).
