Didn’t realize the Bentley comes as a 7 seater too. Now that’s really interesting.

Only place I don't have a problem with the Bentayga is the interior.

    Well wait, I do also.

    Nevermind.

what's wrong with the interior? I often don't like their leather (can't describe it well, too pastel-like or chalky or like someone white washed over the colour then washed it off but left a white film over top) but other than that I don't know how you could have a problem with them. Unless they aren't 'modern' enough for you, but you don't like Tesla's interior which is totally spartan/modern soooSmiley

Material usage is top notch, I just don't like the Mustang-like double binnacle cockpit design.

Thank god they got rid of that in the incoming new Bentleys.

Only with a Diesel engine at the moment

    Re: Ferrari SUV now inevitable

USA model has a W12 gas motor.

Saw a white/white one yesterday. Looked very good, way better than in pictures or videos.

and yes, the interior Mustang motif is gone on the new coupes but is still there on the 4X4

Agree the new Continental has one of the best interiors available. Actually the more I look at that car, outside of going to the track, I don't know what in MY life it wouldn't excel at...

    Re: Ferrari SUV now inevitable

My problem is that they just shoehorn their previous designs onto new models. It's lazy and I don't think it's value for money because I think they're taking their lower-end stuff and taking it high-end rather than taking higher-end stuff to the low end.

I think they should be able to offer unique stuff in unique products at these prices, and I don't think they should be afraid to do so.

Good looking stuff sell, period. A Bentley SUV doesn't have to look like a Bentley to sell well so long as it looks like it's worth $250K and high-end.

At the end of the day, $250K cars don't have bodies that are necessarily $250K-expensive. They don't typically involve insane processes, production, or tolerances. There's just not a good excuse for what is being offered other than marketers being afraid of losing cachet, which I honestly don't think will be problem with proper marketing elsewhere.

SUV’s are intended to be workhorses. Used daily, tossed around and often trashed. That’s exactly the opposite of what Ferrari’s are about. yes

There is market room for a SUV with better looks and performance than the CTTS or Bentley. Serial Ferrari buyers would likel not turn their noses down at one.

The Urus could take that crown, and unlike the Cayenne or Bentley, it will hopefully look good and look like a $200k car...

Smiley Smiley True. Wonderful SUV but the design reminds me of the first Cayenne design.

Exactly. That’s the one thing I like about the Bentley design. After the first two Cayenne designs have been very bland and boring.

The first (955) design was ugly. Special but ugly.

The second (958) was OK and much better, not a big fan of the tail lights though.

The last (facelift) was perfect but maybe a bit too perfect, a bit boring.

The latest Cayenne is again...perfect and perfection is boring.

It isn't as boring as the new Q7 but still not far behind.

Actually, design-wise, I like the latest X5 better than the Cayenne.

Best looking SUV on the market? Without a doubt the Range Rover Sport SVR. Best driving SUV? I bet the new Cayenne.

    Re: Ferrari SUV now inevitable

SUVs are such that there is a limit to how good they can look and price is usually irrelevant. I think Volvo, Mazda, and Land Rover make the best looking SUVs, exterior-wise. They are all very different in price, but nothing about the designs or constructions are expensive.

There is no "exotic" SUV. There are exotic priced SUVs, but no exotic-worthy designed SUVs. You either like them or you don't, but you'll never find anyone saying how amazing they look.

I think the exterior of both the X5 and Q7 look better than the Cayenne. But the X5 needs the 5.0 to look good and the Q7 needs to be an SQ7 and painted in Ara Blue. I really wanted the SQ7 in blue but dieselgate screwed everything. I have been in Florida for a week and rented a GLS 450 and I still think a V6 doesn't belong in an SUV.

    Re: Ferrari SUV now inevitable

V6 doesn't belong in a (larger) SUV, I am saying this all the time. It just feels underpowered, no matter if you add two or three turbo chargers and give that thing 500 hp. A V8 just feels differently, also it sounds differently.

This is why I am so excited about the GLC63 S AMG. blush Finally an interesting product in the right size (not too big, not too small, not too heavy and the perfect engine with lots of torque). I just hope the chassis is what I expect, I didn't have the chance (yet) to test-drive the GLC63 (only the GLC43 and the chassis setup is close to the Macan Turbo we had but the tranny setup sucked, not very harmonious).

The interior of the new Cayenne looks amazing, the Q7 and especially the X5 interior looks outdated in comparison.

    Re: Ferrari SUV now inevitable

Should probably compare it to the soon to launch Q8, which unfortunately ditched the concept interior and just crammed the new A8 interior in it :/

Not bad, but really disappointing. One day manufacturers will realize that people actually want concept interiors and the one that delivers it will eat everyone else for lunch.

The problem with concepts is that if you are too early on the market with a certain design and/or tech, customers may avoid it and the whole project will be a failure. Especially nowadays, with the emissions scandal and all, VW Group is going a "safe" way. Lots of stuff going on there and I feel so sorry for their dealers because they suffer most. Just imagine you have to plan for the next couple of years but you don't really know what...is going on. Smiley

Who in the hell needs a suv ferrari??? Why??? I hate suv of any brand, especialyy those from the supersport brands, there are just so many suv , well all new cars are more or less suv, just dont do it and you remain particular, noble, etc...if even marchionne has decide it it must have been already developed and the mules must be running somewhere, i think that running after this trend will in along term scenario be bad for ferrari loosing their allure and invest that money to develop the suv in formula 1 or other categories and win, that will bring to ferrari more than selling 5000 suv per year i guess.

so in the word there will be just a couple of producers that dont have suv for sale.....i love them

Guys, wait until you are married, have kids, need more luggage room and want to drive a nice car with the family together as well. I love SUVs, wouldn't probably own one without kids but I see the advantages and the comfort of a SUV. Can't wait to get my GLC 63 S AMG, not exactly a larger SUV but should be fun to drive.

Those lame ass Diesel SUVs around? Horrendous, boring as hell, not fun to drive. High performance SUVs with lots of horses, a good chassis and some nice interior? Delicious. Smiley

My wife got a Cayenne S Diesel, in exchange for her Macan Turbo because the car was too small and the Porsche dealer had a special lease offer she couldn't really refuse. The Cayenne S Diesel has 850 Nm torque, does 0-100 kph in around 5.4 seconds and has a top speed of over 260 kph, not exactly a Honda RAV. Smiley

I am getting a GLC 63 S AMG but at the same time, the Cayenne S Diesel will go...we don't need two SUVs.

Initially planned to get a Cayenne Turbo (new one) but lease offer was unacceptable, basically 1000 EUR more per month than GLC 63 S AMG, so no thanks. Would have (maybe) taken a RSQ7 if available but it isn't, so... Smiley

Almost got myself a Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk after my former Jeep dealer called and offered me his first car (March delivery) but when I heard the price tag...well...I almost had a shock. Also, lease offer was bad, very bad, so I declined.
