They go back to have those lines on top of the hood. Like on the old 963. Interesting are those wider wheel arches. Looking forward to understand how they deal with it in the final product.

As we all know, Porsche is keeping their body/frame always for two build iterations. So we knew that the 992 will be a "bigger facelift" instead of a brand new car. I hope that the next car will be a more tremendous update. Maybe increased carbon fiber usage in the chassis? I mean, we are talking about 7 years from now. Until then the cars are more likely all to have a Autonomous Level 4 mode. I also think we will see a lot of EV components until then. Means- next generation must be a bigger upgrade in any sense.

Remember last time when Porsche marketing stressed new exterior door handle design, so anything new is under the ever blotting shape.

Last night when I was driving from the airport back home, a 992 mule was overtaking me. Car was hardly camouflaged.  Looks very wide and bullish. The rear lights looked different (lights on) compared to the 991. Had an aggressive look. Had the spoiler up, which was build all around, more integrated as today. Had the car only 1 min. ahead of me, I was on the left lane with apprx. 200km/h but he was passing by with much higher speed. Also - the car sounded very very noisy. Sorry - couldn't make pictures, everything went too fast.

Re: 992 (Next 911 generation 2018/2019) Fil de discussion fermé

The car I did see had less camo at the rear.

However - like this one here, it was insanely wide

Re: 992 (Next 911 generation 2018/2019) Fil de discussion fermé

So was it the Turbo ? The above pics looks like the Turbo .

The car is insanely wide ! I wonder if those flat parts on the fender will stay . Looks a bit like add ons

But even on the  spy pics of the Carrera's it is clear the was will be much wider then the current one .

Turbo could come earlier than in previous new generation model introductions. Not at the same time with the first models, the Carrera and Carrera S though.

I just found this pic: Check the car in the front. Thats the car I did see! Number plate 133 - it looks like not having camouflage on top of the vender. And again - Vender is really wide. Also, the exhausts are two of them looking like on a Audi RS6/7. It might be a Carrera. The car I seen was super noisy, sounded very loud. Still could hear it after it was that far ahead of me that I hardly couldn't see it anymore.

Maybe it's just me, but it looks way too wide. Almost like a tuner aftermarket widebody kit.

If you want a wide car, make it wide everywhere and graceful. This just looks like extruding the fenders.

But it is funny to imagine it looking like that. I wonder what extremes they could go to ugly up the mules so that the final product looks ‘perfect’ (I.e. just like the last one +1% 1963 911)

The Turbo will no longer try to keep up with the others with top end or max HP.  (Actually stopped 10 years ago) It will be happy to be a 0-60 or 100 beast  and serve up benchmark daily driver status. Which is a perfect place to be if you want volume sales.   Look for Lamborghini to take up the HP and top speed wars

Correct and why the Huracan replacement is said to go with a carbon fiber tub design.  This makes the Audi R8 a difficult proposition, from a cost standpoint, and why its demise is imminent; however, platform sharing with the Aventador replacement is more likely, in the mold of McLaren’s approach.

Truth to be told, I heard that all 992 Carrera models (maybe with special edition exceptions) will be PDK only. GT models could get a manual version again, especially the GT3.
