DaveGordon:I’ll take mine in Viper with black decals please..
Not that it matters as it sounds like there is zero chance of plebs like me getting one
Will be nice to watch the lucky few choosing from some interesting colour choices for a change though.
Keep insisting Dave. Let you dealer know again and again and again . Drop by regularly , say hello , etc... Hard work , I know
Will be difficult for me too probably .

You are joking, right? I even drive my R8 in winter.
If you have too much snow in winter, get a basic SUV or an Audi AWD.

Mithras:I still want Ice Green or Mint Green. Ice Green is one of the forgotten, all time best colours porsche ever did.
Boahh, I really like ice green, thanks for bringing this up. It is one of my all time favourites regarding car colours.
We're at the point where you can be the fastest or just sound like you're the fastest.

Your R8's not running Cup2s IIRC.... I could run the GT3 in winter but honestly I just didn't want to drop 10k on a winter wheel set for very marginal use. Also makes little financial sense to own a second car when I am on my own and use public transport most of the time. I am just unlucky that the dealer in question is very awkward to get to on public transport.
The McLaren dealer on the other hand is very accessible, and they are actually interested in my business.

Probably the very notion that I use public transport is enough to rule me out as a customer
What did Margaret Thatcher say? A man who, beyond the age of 26, finds himself on a bus can count himself as a failure. Seems to be some doubt around the veracity of this quote though.

This quote is more true in cities like Los Angeles
Fairly true here in Denver too...

Depends on where you live... Also, you use public transportation very, very much. The plane...

totally agree. i don't have a winter car either. i drive for fun only and to own an SUV is not fun for me. so when i am in europe i rent a car, use public transport (planes.....but last week it was the subway in vienna.....not too bad) and taxis and that is that.

The green color is the surprise?...?
IMO we cannot expect a big technical step vs. .1 GT3 RS since it is not a model change. I hope I am wrong, but I would see 'only'

Sorry, will go back to off topic
I can never imagine myself owning just one car. Each car serves a different driving purpose. There will never be one car that is good for everything.
I do not prefer public transportation if I have a choice. I would rather walk.
If I am on my own, I definitely will have more than 5 cars, and keep adding.
BTW, I am not bad at all, Whoopsy is much worse, he buys everything.

Also I wonder what would be the sense of having the configurator online mid February as mentioned by many people if the car is to be launched at the Geneva show early March.

The car will have world premiere in Geneva, but web special can be live a little earlier. Porsche has done that many times before…
