Gauss:maybe a misconception of PS and HP.

Really weird, had february 6th in my calendar for months. Maybe someone "forgot" to inform me.

Why would you care? The GT cars are not your thing.
You have your way. I have my way. As for the correct way and the only way, it does not exist.
Got confirmation today that I have an RS allocation secured . 9 cars go to my dealer
When also to visit a private collection of cars , about 100 cars . Just took this shot of a car that amazed me at the time when it came out . It was like a street fight jet !

And cool to see Vector IRL!
I loved the Vector when it came out , was during my childhood. Insane monster.

So you’re saying that the GT cars are not my thing after owning Ferrari’s and the last two GT3’s?
i raise the question with you based on the fact that to my knowledge you have never owned a Porsche GT car and indicated your lack of interest in them. You need another vacation.

martini964:Congrats Eric,PTS??
Not sure. Acording to rumors PTS will not be available but we have heared that story before with the .1 RS and see what happened.
It will also depend on the new colors offered for the car .
If I would be 100% sure this RS would be the last NA then I would want to make special with PTS but now I am not convinced at all anymore that the next GT s will take the turbo route.

Nick, how often have you been to the track and track raced your car(s) properly?
I was never interested in GT cars because I lost interest in track racing at around age 40+. The reason is simple: I did my share of track racing, professional racing, semi-professional racing back in the days, even some crazy shit I am not proud of and while I am pretty sure I can still learn a lot, there isn't much I would get in return, emotionally, by track racing. My family comes first, then I spend some time with a few (exclusive) friends who don't like to brag about our meets because they don't need to. I wish I could post photos and tell you names but you probably wouldn't believe me anyway. So if you found your love for the track (and/or GT cars), this is absolutely great. At some age, men need to decide if they want to spend their money on divorces, girlfriends being a sugar daddy) or...cars, maybe motorcycles. For me, this is different because I basically did anything a car nut would desire to do. I only wish I had more money to fulfill some of my car dreams. Which brings me to the main point here: I learned to set priorities. Family first, hobby second. This is why I never got a GT car, it would be even more pointless than the R8 I got. At least I drive it from time to time with some friends together and I can enjoy it, including the fact that I pay so little money for this toy.
Long story short: You are probably there were I was over 25 years ago. Only with more money and less hair.

All I know is that Porsche will "try" to offer n/a GT cars in the future as well but mainly as some sort of special edition models. This could mean 500 cars, this could mean 5000 cars.
Also, let's be real here: The current particulate filter initiative for petrol cars in Europe is probably a direct consequence of the Diesel scandal. So if a similar scandal (or whatever negative story the media finds to spread) happens in a year or two, it is very likely that Porsche (and most other car manufacturers) will change their model strategy.
So even if Preuninger would tell us now "yes, there will be future n/a GT models", in 12 months, this can be obsolete.
Get what you really think you like and don't think about resale value or whatever. It is a dangerous game and can be exhausting.

Christian, you totally misunderstood my response. I was not castigating your interest in when the RS will be announced. I just was puzzled why you seemed upset you the dates were not accurate. Thus my comment about why do you care.
FWIW, I have had my share of racing and track work. What changed for me was the insurance requirements and what happened to Ben. It gave me a different perspective not unlike yours. Nevertheless, I buy the GT cars because from a value standpoint they are unbeatable and provide me albeit limited opportunities to experience the exhilaration of performance driving which is for the most part unequalled.
That said, if I had a track within a hour drive I would reconsider tracking the car. Right now I would have at least a two hour drive each way if no traffic. Equally important would be the organization sponsoring the event.

Of course Nick... Yes, I care because I spend a lot of time talking to people and collecting information and I find it a bit strange when I do not have certain dates, which are widely know (to "insiders").

I don't really care why you buy them, they are fantastic and fun, so who cares?! Just wanted to make a point that I am not interested in GT cars because they do not make sense for me. Unfortunately. With more time (and money), I would certainly have a GT Porsche in my garage, no doubt about it.

A little suggestion: Find other people who love to drive to the track and even the two hour drive can be fun. We have the mountains, lots of curvy roads where the speed limit is 100 kph but you really cannot be much faster, unless you want to kill yourself. talking about austria: on each of the last three day trips i took in austria i got three (3!!!!!) speeding tickets, between 60 and 90 euros. not much but boy once they start giving out points.......:::((((

6th or 22nd? 😅
do you know if they will really build 2 „different“ versions - one with and the other without the part. filter?
two cars one with and without!! I have some doubt. Need more modification like just the parts ( the filter). Motronic etc and the sound change, the power curve is not the same without some modification (interns and setup ( plugs etc)) its not simple like change an air filter...
997 GT3 RS 3.6 - 964 RS - 993 RS - 991 GT3 RS
As far as I heard, the particulate filter needs more adaption and eats more power than the catalysators we got 20 years ago. But nevertheless I believe in the second wave of RS after the factory holidays. They need to build more cars. Not enough time from march to july. They need a bigger number of cars to make enough profit with the RS. This is important to get green light for the next RS (with hopefully a N/A engine).
