The dealer's fault, but then again dealers will always be about money first.

Most 918 owners in the VIP program are not in it for the money on this side of the pond, hence it good that Porsche took the greedy dealers out of play by directly assigning cars to enthusiasts that bough the 918.

And since the cars sold to 918 VIPs are at MSRP, that took the extra profit away from the dealers. They wanted to make it back some how.

In the rest of the world there is no VIP program, a guy buying a 918 has no priority, it's the 'relationship' with the dealer that counts. But that 'relationship' also depends on how much the customer contribute to the dealer's bottom line. A lifelong collector that never sell his cars has no chance against flippers who partner up with the dealership for profit.

    i meant 991.1 of course.

Re: 991.2 GT3 RS Thread Closed

If you pay 550K GBP for this car, you're on crack because if you have 550K GBP to spend on this car, you can obviously afford to just go buy a 918.

918 is still quicker than the RS once you take off the street tires and put on the cheater rubber that all manufacturers are testing with nowadays.

    550K GBP for which car?

ahhh ok. i would not pay 550K GBP/USD/EUR for that car either.

The .2GT3 really is a fabulous car. Even my wife loves riding in it. I can understand why people are clamoring to get one. I like it so much I may pass on the .2RS for fear it may be too much track focussed. We'll see.

No chance you'll do that, Nick. Its going to be a very compliant ride Smiley, imo Smiley...

Seriously, I think it will. Guys are saying the GT3.2 is more friendlier than the GT3.1. I always have my .1 on the hard settings and still find it very usable. Yes, it bangs you about a bit but thats what these rides are all about..Smiley..

The RS will be more track focused, but one track enhancement has a nice side-effect for improved street usability:

The huge wing is held much higher, so you can actually see out of the rear window when driving around town Smiley

Re: 991.2 GT3 RS Thread Closed

The only real questions will be what they have done with the engine and what the Ring time will be blush

I think most everything else will be a combination of GT2RS chassis and GT3 engine/gearbox (with more power).

Oh, and the price will be interesting too...

I am afraid to see only exposed black parts and not exposed carbon to protect the superior GT2RS...

let's see how it comes...manual GT3 is on the way and it will be difficult to not purchase this if exposed carbon is everywhere indecision

Re: 991.2 GT3 RS Thread Closed

As expected  very subtile changes, mostly taken from the new GT3 . I would of hoped a little bit more differences with .1  . Probably they could not improve the aero very much . Anyway, I like it .

Is there an extractor under then engine ? Not sure I see one .

Also, I always find it '' funny'' to suddenly see these '' spy'' shots with no camouflage driving around in a city .......

For the moment I feel the .2 could be the smallest evolution form .1 we have seen so far from all the GT3 RS , specially if it stays with a 4.0 engine

Of course it is all planned marketing. I don't think we would be seeing any prototypes if not for marketing only.

I don't think they need marketing - at least not for the guys who really want these cars. And the others probably don't care about these spy photos.
