Great news Gnil ! I didn't know you were in the market for the .2 RS. If you can do PTS, what would be your favorite color choice?

I was in the market for a '' special edition RS '' , but as it is not coming , I ' ve changed it to the .2 RS .

If I go PTS ( which seems unlikely as rumors says no PTS on .2 RS ) It would probably give me a headache to choose the color Smiley , I like the older mat blues, not flashy . I like also the greens . Or some of the pastel ones you see on the Stinger .

520 hp....... heart This might get me to reconsider. From the beginning rumors said 550, then RC heard 530 ( as always good intelligens/sources on your part, RC kiss ).

My hunger for this car just disappeared somewhat. I’ll think I’ll stick to my .1 GT3 (with its brand new, third engine installed smiley ) and my coming GT2 RS when it comes to having fun on ordinary track days/events and then go full in with the cup car for serius racing events. Dont see the meaning with the GT3 RS for me anymore.... yes

But..... we’ll see, you never know. Changed my mind before, but 520 hp is VERY disappointing mail

I agree , that would be the VERY small HP bump . Hard to imagine how that small improvement could deference it from the GT3 .

With your car collection, + Cup driving it a 3 RS would not make much sense

The power increase with the first gen was also only 25 hp...not that much of a difference. Afterall the RS is not about the power (the 997.1 GT3 RS even had the same power as the GT3) but the rare material, the lightness, the exclusivity and so on.

talking about austria: on each of the last three day trips i took in austria i got three (3!!!!!) speeding tickets, between 60 and 90 euros. not much but boy once they start giving out points.......:::((((

The trick in a group is: One car drives ahead and "clears" the road. Smiley Smiley Usually the spouse of one of our guys with her brother.

Didn't the 997 GT3.1 RS have 415 HP and the .2 450 HP ? That was a good increase .

I agree it will be hard to get much more form the 4.0 ..... but then I wonder what they' ll do to make it different from the GT3 .... different materials ? Single fly wheel ? :-)

do you know if they will really build 2 „different“ versions - one with and the other without the part. filter?

two cars one with and without!! I have some doubt. Need more modification like just the parts ( the filter). Motronic etc and the sound change,the power curve is not the same without some modification (interns and setup ( plugs etc)) its not simple like change an air filter...

I also have some doubt, but that's what I have heared from a (normally) well informed source .... Smiley

997.1 GT3 415HP // RS also 415 HP
997.2 GT3 435HP // RS 450 HP - the limited 4.0 had 500 HP (and some troubles with the engine Smiley )
991.1 GT3 475HP // RS 500 HP

So I it will be 520HP or 525HP for the 991.2 RS ...

nice.....btw, what do you expect more from the 3RS.2 than what you already have from the 3RS.1? or is it just to have the latest and greatest .....for which i personally have a lot of understanding.....but it would interest me what you think the face-lift will have which the current version does not.

today i took my car out again in vienna, going for a short drive (3 degrees, but sunny and dry), with the excuse to do a minor paint correction on the car at my dealership. i dawned on me that i really really like the GT3RS and that is is really all i need as a road car. all the rest is - for me - burning money for minor upgrades:::)))) next year i shall put winter tires on the RS and one more problem solved:::)))) when i don't drive the car for a while, a whole world of theory opens up (which car is better and why) but the drive is really addictive.

I'm curious why doesn't Porsche produce more GT cars instead of the Panameras and regular Carreras that dealers sell less than MSRPs. Just move some of the resources and produce more GT3s and GT2s. Or is it their strategy to make people fight over the few that they produce for many to flip later. I'm certain they can sell twice what they produce from the GT department.

Porsche due to their heritage, build all their sports cars in Zuffenhausen. But they are pretty much maxed out there so the daily production can't going much higher than about 270 cars per day. GT car's production are limited by suppliers, be it their own engine department or outside suppliers so they can't do more than 40 a day either.

The GT car craze right now is due to cheap easy money, AND the fact that the cars don't seem to lose value over time due to the current frenzy.

Solution? Wait a little bit, if the market continue spiral downwards, a lot of the current 'buyers' will be weeded out as they find out they can't really afford such a car anymore. Or had to liquidate their current ride to pay for their debt.
