    300'000km...

    Here we are!

    Re: 300'000km...

    Congrats Pierre

I'm only at 175000km with my Boxster. Still a long way to go

    Re: 300'000km...

Thats about 180k miles. Congrats! those are a lot of fun miles. I am at 36k miles and I am interested in your repair experience long term. These are very reliable super-cars. Thanks !

    Re: 300'000km...

is this the porsche with more mileage?

    amazing pierre

    Re: 300'000km...

Congrats! How many miles do you drive it each year?

I bought the car in May '01 with just under 7'000km (it's a June 2000 build). That gives an avg of about 3'800 km per month or 45'000 km per year (28'000 miles). And no, I don't wanna know how much time I've spent in those bucket seats...

    Re: 300'000km...

    Félicitations Pierre !!

And you forgot to specify that your beast has nearly as many miles on the track than on the road !

    Re: 300'000km...

Proves again one thing : no other sportscar can beat the reliability of a Porsche. Just today i saw a video posted in the rennteam 997 turbo forum - Porsche versus lambo versus Subaru etc and despite that the lp640 was leading didn't even finish 5 rounds.....
    congrats !!! and heads off....

I sincerely hope that you meant HATS off, otherwise we're going to get hurt .

Pierre, congratulations! You just did more for Porsche PR than any number of commercials could .

    Re: 300'000km...

Congratulations. Bearing in mind your country's speedlimit I still ask myself how you collect all those KMs...

    Re: 300'000km...

It's a long way to the Nürburgring...

    Re: 300'000km...

Hi pierre...you are an Hero since i've been driving my TT 30000 km this year and i consider it not the best car to be driving to the nuerburgring and back so often ...or at least not the more relaxing one.

Maybe i'm not trained enough.......since my back starts to be painful after 300-400km in a row.
And all that leaving out the outrageous noise coming from Pirelli Pzero nero asimmetrico.......grrrrrr

Those few dozen laps you do each time probably don't hurt as well .

    Re: 300'000km...

@silvershadow: I consider my Turbo the ideal car to fly... huh... drive to the N'ring. Its 542 Hp and 788 make it extremely fast (I usually drive in the evening/night, when roads are more or less empty), and despite the GT3 bucket seats, comfort it still excellent for my taste. Do you have the comfort seats?

@Crash: I haven't done that many laps with the Turbo this year. Instead, I'm driving a Clio Cup III in the VLN and CHC series... And you know what? The Clio is much more fun than the heavy Turbo on the track! Of course, top-speed and accel can't be compared. Well... they can: I've seen slightly over 300km/h at Döttinger Höhe with the Turbo (with a terribly sub-optimal Galgenkopf and a passenger), and the Clio is hitting the limiter at around 209. But the curvy parts and the whole race-feeling are just fantastic with the Clio!

    Re: 300'000km...

So do you keep the Clio at the Ring? 209 km/h might not be that much, but I bet it's plenty through those curves .

    Re: 300'000km...

Yep, the Clio stays at Ring-Racing. Fantastic bunch of guys...

    Re: 300'000km...

The car is equipped with normal seats.
I find them nice apart from the support in the lower part
    of the vertebral column.
In there they leave too much space ==> there is not enough support. My passenger too normally suffers from this issue.

What seats do you have pierre?
    What kind of tires?

    Re: 300'000km...

Congrats, Pierre Your TT seems to be as reliable as a Swiss watch

Re the Clio Cup: may I ask what the weight of the car is ?
Is it hard to keep it on the track when Alzen is flying by ? - there must be some drag/turbulences....

    Re: 300'000km...

@silvershadow: I have the GT3 bucket seats. Love 'em! As for the tires, I've had the Pirelli Asimmetrico, the Pirelli Corsa and the SnowSport 210/240. But right now, I'm trying a set of Bridgestone for the first time (Pirelli couldn't deliver). Well... not for long: winter tires are now due... Personnally, tire noise is not something I worry about.

@Porsche-Jeck: the Clio Cup III is 1'060 kg. All the details here: http://www.renault-sport.com/en/circuit/new_clio_cup/fichetechnique.php

Being passed by the big shots is impressive, yep. They just fly by!... But I must say most of the guys are very fair players: they will take any opportunity to pass you, but they won't push you out. With up to 210 cars on the track, it's a great load of fun!

    Re: 300'000km...

Well...before the experience with this set of tires i also had not big worries about tire noise...but now it's something huge. I have to record it since i find it quite high. I'm craving to put my beloved winter tires on(bridgestone blizzaks) since i'm dying with these tires....

    Re: 300'000km...

Thanks for the info, Pierre - enjoy the winter break from the Ring (TT + snow in the Swiss mountains should be fun also ) and all the best for the next VLN season

    Re: 300'000km...

    Chapeau Pierre
This is an achievement, both for the driver and the car.

    That is really amazing news

P.S.: If you offered the car to Porsche (for their new museum) they might give you a brand new GT2 in exchange

    Re: 300'000km...

A brand new GT2?... hmmm... What color?

    Re: 300'000km...

You're mad in the best way possible, keep on going!

So you have 300kkm on a TUNED TT? Wow, these cars are reliable!

    Re: 300'000km...

Well, I changed the suspension quite early, like after 40'000km. Full H&R setup. Then got a new clutch and engine at 217kkm (full story here). Then came the engine tuning at 240k: Sportec stage 3 + GT3 front brakes + GT2 intercoolers + brakes cooling ducts (story here). After that, new gearbox at 256k (should have done it with the engine, but no time).

So actually, I now have about 60'000km with the upgraded version. All good so far...

    Black or arctic silver

    Re: 300'000km...

Actually, I'd probably rather give the GT3 RS a try instead of the GT2. But well... if I had to, I'd probably take the GT2 also. Black, yep.
