I wanted something different to everyone else and yet something that at the same time looked classy and not 'in your face'. White with DAJ would have been my first choice, but it's a bit too flashy for where I live/drive and would get dirty very quickly.
Arctic Silver is easy to maintain, and looks almost white in the sunshine. I will blend in with most of the other cars on the road so I won't stick out like a sore-thumb to Traffic Police. Plus I can have the DAJ option I wanted all along. Granted, it's not everyone's cup-of-tea, but I think it makes the car look more 'bullish' and less like a gaping fish with something sticking out of it's throat (the fog lights).
The only things that I really would like extra would be Direct Injection, PSE, and a fixed PTM/PASM setup - but no way am I willing to wait another year for that (especially as the 998 will follow on a few years later).
All in all... I am just SO excited!!!

Yes, I used to feel that way too. I thought it looked silly when first I saw the white ones.
Looking at thousands of 'standard' Turbo pics each and every day for a year of so though has made me appreciate DAJ in a whole new light.
So I guess it's an aquired taste

The DAJ package is something I thought I would never consider - until I saw it in person on, of all things, a white 997tt. It looks much better in person. I had a friend with me who agreed. Funny how different our perceptions of these cars are from photos to real life.

I have owned both colors and really you must see these in person and then decide. There are too many variables comparing photos with both colors. Rather than state which color I prefer (which is meaningless to you) see if you can visit your local dealers and then make your choice. Here are 2 photos to view. Keep in mind GT Silver adds more than $2K to the price of your car. Gt silver is slightly darker in person and has larger flakes which jump at you when the sunlight hits it directly. The first photo is a 997S in Arctic silver. The second photo below is a 997 Turbo in GT Silver.
