    Re: alonso 2008

    Hmmmm ... Ron's move next ...

    Re: alonso 2008

I wonder if Ron Dennis has learned any lessons from Shakespeare? Take both flesh and blood!

    Re: alonso 2008

if hamilton had won last weekend Dennis would have kicked Alonso right out and replaced him with their test driver petro de la rosa? i think i remember him driving for Jaguar a couple of years back!!!
Im pretty sure alonso is done at Mclaren.

i hope raikonen wins cause i both hate alonso and Mclaren.

    Re: alonso 2008

Alonso has a contract. Ron will not allow him to break it unless financial settlement is made. Technically he is already in breach of his contract if he has signed anything with Renault while still under contract to McLaren.

I wonder if Renault have the money to do bail him out as Carlos Ghosn recently talked about cost-cutting. Possibly some kind of driver swap could be involved with Kovalainen.

Then after all this Alonso gets to Renault, gets teamed up with Piquet Jr. who refuses to accept no. 2 status, outqualifies Alonso in two races and Alonso spontaneously self-combusts

    perfect ending

do you know the contract details?

Maybe Ron doesn't want Alonso to drive next year! Maybe Ron will watch formula-1 next year at home. All speculations - lets wait 3 weeks and we will know what will happen.

    Re: alonso 2008

I do think that wherever Alonso will go, his paranoia about being beaten by his team-mate will make life difficult for him as Renault is probably the only team that would give him what he wants. And even then I dont see Piquet being a pushover. In 2004 when Trulli performed better than Alonso in Renault (and won the only race for Renault that year) he still got sacked when FA started complaining about being beaten. If that wasnt favoritism by Flavio I dont know what is!

    Re: alonso 2008

The number one status in a team is very promising. Michael Schumacher was a real number one in his team more then Alonso was when driving for Flavio. Look what happens now to Mclaren. Do you think that Schumacher loved to be beaten by his team mate?

Until last year I think Mclaren was the only team with no number one. But last year Mclaren was not a top team. Each top team has a number one.

The big difference when comparing Schumacher and Alonso is that Schumacher absolutely dominated his team-mates and earned the right to no.1 status on merit. Irvine, Barichello, Herbert, none of them were anywhere near Schumacher therefore No. 1 or No. 2 status became a moot point. Had Alonso been as good relative to Hamilton, this whole No. 1 /No. 2 issue would not even have been discussed. It is precisely because Alonso is not fast enough that this becomes an issue. If his junior team-mate is quicker then how can Alonso expect or demand No. 1 status

A question for you, observing Alonso this year, do you feel he has earned the right to be given no. 1 status as he kept asking for based on his relative performances to his team-mate in the early part of the season???

Simple yes or no answer will do thank you!

absolutely not... simple question simple answer...

    Re: alonso 2008

I think that neither Lewis nor Fernando should get the trophey this year. But I think that Alonso had never a chance in that team.

If you look carefully you will see that Alonso was over the year faster then Lewis. Of course if Lewis wouldn't be so good this discussion never would come out. Comparing Schumacher and the other driver - the status was known in forward.

    Re: alonso 2008

I'd love to see Kimi in Brazil on pole , Massa second backing him and 3rd/4th with Alonso/Hamilton kicking themselves out in the first corner since nobody gives way. Happy ending...
Guess Massa and Kimi certainly won't since they have nothing to loose - so I would not be as cool as Hamilton pretends to be... cannot wait for that wk-end.

    Re: alonso 2008

Alonso is a frigging girlieman. A huge sissyboy and crybaby.
I've said this a gazillion times. Suddenly, the rest of the world is starting to realize it.

"Oh, cursed am I. Why must I always be right?!"
