Yes, hopefully this will define the new BMW family look throughout the model ranges.

    Re: BMW to build CS

wonder what the base price of that cs will be.

    Re: BMW to build CS

    Coool!
    The V12 version sounds awesome

    Re: BMW to build CS

    Cool (Thanks Ron)

So far the Concpet CS looks a million times better than the Panamera, but we'll have to wait for the final products come out. I hope they don't change much on the CS, it's looks fantastic the way it is.

And a CS with the rumoured 4.0 litre bi-turbo V8 (410 hp, and a mountain of torque) will be

    Re: BMW to build CS

According to someone I know in BMW, all new BMW F series (starting with new 7 series, codename F01/02) will have similaritis with CS concept. According to him, front and rear of next 7 series will be almost same to CS`s

    Re: BMW to build CS

It will be a good looking car...

    Re: BMW to build CS

It's a beautiful , sleek car with just the right amount of aggression in the face .( Not like someone elses's upcoming Lexus -looking blob ) On the production version, they'll probably connect the two ( now disjointed ) creases along the fender tops into one .

    Re: BMW to build CS

That's the most stunning car BMW has designed since the Z8.
A helluvalot more beautiful than what the Panamera promises to be.

    Re: BMW to build CS

I agree with Dr. Phil and temm, so far it looks better than the Panamera.

I have read from the head designer that each future model of the range will feature its own identity (a little bit like X5/X3 vs Z4 vs 3/5/7 series if you like), OTOH if someone knows a BMW employee who says otherwise...

    Re: BMW to build CS

Doubt a perf limo will help BMW/P increase their profit margins...

CS is a CLS-styling knock-off....CLS launched some 3-4 yrs ago and is already a "has-been" among the peri-menopausal target buyers...

S65 is arguably leading perf limo/kid-hauler today....but by time CS/Panam launch, S-Class will have undergone its mid-cycle tech updates...and AMG will have retired the elderly, heavy 65 motor w/a latest-tech V12 motor....

Also, my anecdotal sense (mfr warranty repair costs are only hard data to confirm) is that MB's S- and CL-Class are highest-quality/most reliable cars on mkt today, despite their class-leading tech intensity

Until BMW and P show ability to engineer robust, latest-tech cars, warranty costs and lemon-law buyback costs (esp in US) may further pressure BMW and P profit margins (the profit-impacting quality/reliability issues MB grappled w/until its impressive CY06 S-Class launch)....

Continually moving competing targets in a tech-intense auto industry w/limited-to-no ability to raise prices/lease terms, yet ever-shorter tech and fashion cycles (and FX issues vs dollar).....great times for car nuts/consumers...

Well said...but just how many trips to the "BMW Handler" will the owner go? How many millions of lines of software will be beta'd on first year owners and how many engine blocks (Z8 owners know this!) will prove to be..er "troublesome" ???

I submit that even a hoopty 67 912 targa with rusted floor pans, ghetto wheels and a picture of the Late Marcel Marceau decoupaged on the the hood is more..reliable(!) and engaging! than any product from the Quandt families BMZilla
    money machine.

Id rather drive a horse towing a Panamera on runflats than drive any running BMW!

Any Porsche is better than any BMW! Period!

I also agree with temm and doc.

BMW is really recovering from its bangle period and has a lot of great product.

    Re: BMW to build CS

I just hope they won't alter it too much when goes into production. Otherwise this is one stunning design without a doubt.

    Re: BMW to build CS

now we just have to wait and see Audi's A7

    Re: BMW to build CS

This car needs V12 version of the current M engine

    Re: BMW to build CS

I think it would be wise to have a bi-turbo V8 in this car, it obviously appeals to a younger crowd so I think making it "easily" able to be modified would be a big plus.
