Re: Terrible Crash (997 Turbo - Murci)

Very sad. I'm glad no one got killed.

Funny how a nice life with beautiful cars goes to complete ashes and broken bones in an unimaginable split second.

    WOW.

What I dont like about the murci is that if you survive from an accident, but the car is flipped over, what the heck you do?, breaking the window, but that is more time you loose, and engine or fuel tank could explode....Its something to have in mind with the Murcielago/Diablo

Don't the Murci/Diablo/Countach-doors have something like a emergency exit for such situations?

I think I heard something like this.

A screwdriver to unbolt the doors?

But really, the term 'suicide doors' sounds disturbingly apt.

Both drivers survived. The Lambo driver has serious leg injuries, the 911 driver was hurt on his head and back.

They raced in relativly high traffic, the Porsche driver saw a police car, hit the brake and the Lambo smashed it from behind.

Anyway, both car was on sale, and the 911 even had a special extra "option" intalled (attached).

    What is it?

It looks to me a dummy seat belt buckle to be able to drive without the "fasten seat belt" alarm when not using the belt. "Dummy" would seem to be an accurate description for such a cavalier attitude to safety.

Sounds like a Darwin award candidate.

Re: Terrible Crash (997 Turbo - Murci)

    the lambo caused the accident

Re: Terrible Crash (997 Turbo - Murci)

Surely the astute Lambo driver was able to use his track-look fire extinguisher to put out any pesky fire...

Gotta love the tints and aftermkt (and factory-spec....urine yellow interior????) tackiness of 997TT....street-racers tend to be rather easy to profile/predict by police (or fellow, more responsible motorists)....

Um, VKSF, if your urine is the color of sand beige leather, you might want to rush into the ER, pronto !

Re: Terrible Crash (997 Turbo - Murci)

this reminds us about not to do street races...

Re: Terrible Crash (997 Turbo - Murci)

This may sound a bit harsh but it wouldn't bother me if these idiots would have been killed. It would be two less idiots on earth harming the lives of the others on the road. Racing at high speed in traffic?!# I don't care what car they are driving, it doesnt earn them any space for such stupid acts.

I'm just glad others on the highway weren't killed/injured.

Thinking that my wife and kids are sharing the highways with these idiots, I have to agree with you Harry.

Yes, it's harsh to say that.

"Progress" of the Western world notwithstanding, there's a essential (some would say predominate) quality of all Human Beings at play here: they are irrational.

I agree. However, what do you expect when you give a bottle of whiskey to an alcoholic?

Re: Terrible Crash (997 Turbo - Murci)

Totally insane.... glad though that they survived the insident.
BTW, watched some videos on youtube and ran into this one where a 997 turbo races a Honda civic... looks VERY much like it is the car that was involved in this crash, don't you think?

Re: Terrible Crash (997 Turbo - Murci)

Glad they survived - they should now be put in jail for their crime. Shame on them.

    Agree

    Darwinian selection should prevail....

Most of jaded guys w/new 599/65, etc I know are rather risk/reward-conscious guys who seem to know where/when it makes sense to drive in a more spirited manner on public roads (and have no interest in tracks, arguing risk/reward on semi-public/private tracks is prob inferior to well-known, empty public roads) ....w/o putting selves/others at undue risk.....and I suspect driving records/insurance premiums often correlate well w/one's risk/reward decisions in driving...as well as life/business generally....
