Whoopsy:SO, a few of the 918 owners got their GT3 in manual already like me, we shared some thoughts.
The general consensus is like mine, the GT3 is too refined, it lost the 'raw'ness of the 911R. The noise is still there, the engine sounds great, but it's missing the rough idle, the extra vibrations from the single mass flywheel. Same can and will be said for the GT3 Touring.
For those that thought the GT3 Touring will be a 'poor man's 911R substitute, it cannot be farther form the truth. While it looked almost the same on the outside and almost the same on the inside, they are just as different as a GT3 Touring vs a Carrera S with manual.
Pretty amazing that Porsche can use a single basic body, 'platform' so to speak and make a million different versions and each feels completely different than the others.
McLaren still have a long way to go in that regards, off all the cars they made using the 12C platform, which is every single model they have ever made sans the F1, no matter how their PR department spin them as 'different' models, they all basically feel and drives the same. The 720S comes close to being the best and most different, but still, it is quite close to the original 12C.
Comparing the sound and idling feel of a single mass flywheel car to that with a dual mass is an apples to oranges comparison. I have been with you on the McLaren platform thing (which you consistently trot out with almost @noone like monotony), but comparing a 720S to a 12C takes it too far. I have had both and let me tell you the 720S feels lightyears ahead of the 12C and distinctly different.
crayphile:Congratulations - that is a very unique combination . Ignore the black wheel brigade they are so passe now .
Indeed black wheels are seen less and less on nice luxury cars that want to have a sporty look and more and more on very cheap ricer cars. Grey or two tone is the new black.

SpoUnique color indeed! However, black rims + PCCB is a must IMHO`
Don't you think speccing a EUR10k option just for the caliper color is a bit out there? I understand PCCB, if you want it for what it offers, but to spec it just for esthetics...

Thanks to Everyone for the kind words I would have expected more polarized views on the color! It was not an easy decision but I am glad I went for it. I have closely inspected the Porsche Museum 997 GT3 RS 3.8 painted in this color and other 964 RS before pulling the trigger .
I wanted to re-create the 964 RS look and for this reason I went with Sternrubin and Satin Aluminum wheels, ideally the calipers should have been black but you know how it is with the factory painting the calipers, either you are a Porsche family/board member or you are Jerry Seinfeld to have this done . For mere mortals almost no chance.
The options I have are the following: Color to Sample, Manual transmission, Foldable bucket seats (heated), Lift, Bose, Rear Camera, Full leather interior with silver deviated stitching, Cruise control . Satin Aluminum wheels. No CXX options , no Sport Chrono and no Led (because of aesthetics) . Car was delivered on Dunlop tyres. 7 months between order to delivery.
Sadly due to weather conditions I don`t think I will have a proper drive before March-April.

Well, you have spent 10k for esthetics as well (PTS), haven't you ?

Yeah but on a colour, not on a caliper! And so has m4ever, so they're asking him to fork out 20k to get his combination right.

Is that going to happen? Most recent rumors I heard seemed to exclude it from list of future vehicles...
