configurator is active
as expected, from italian brand, you can't spend more than 10 min on the configurator without crashing it 
sounds very similar to Lambo reliability even if it improved the past few years 
4 seats or 5 seats, it is a option to select...
I really like it and price is 170KEuros without VAT, not bad!
I don't know how Lambo plays with option price list.
wide possibilities for inside and out and few techs available.

SciFrog:Panamera had only 4 seats, a pretty big marketing blunder for a sporty family car IMHO... As you said, same for the X6...
Their initial target was against 7 series and S-class, both of which have 4 seat configurations.
Going against the biggest sedans was their biggest mistake I think.
Had they going one size smaller and go up against the 5 series, E-class, Porsche would have cleaned house I believed. Mercedes' CLS sedans are sporty 4 seaters and Panamera would have no problem eating it for breakfast lunch and dinner.

That’s the way it should be, a bit like Range Rover. Porsche way is beyond ridiculous. You are buying a luxury product and they nickel and dime you all the way. With the coming of the Urus I might be Porsche free for the first time in 20 years. They are laughing all the way to the bank but they also have failed in several ways, mostly by offering mass market product at exclusive prices level, or offering true exclusive products but so niche and castrated enough to not want one.

Keep scrolling down the option tab, after the initial ones with pictures, there are a bunch without.
That combined with the all the interior color and stitching choices makes it having more choices than doing up a Cayenne.

I think they only show some of the possible options.
For some reason, Lamborghini don’t pay much attention to their webpage. I’m surprised they even got a configurator for the Urus.
Although they have improved their configurator a lot with the presentation of the Urus. The old one must have been one of the worst car configurators of the whole www, you couldn't even configure the interior.

SUV's are probably one of the most challenging shapes to try and do something with from a designers perspective as they have so many restrictions in terms of being a two box design from a practicality point of view and requiring fairly tall body sides. They must satisfy all crash and safety legislation applicable in the markets they intend to sell into and on top of that they face fixed hard point challenges through group platform sharing. Once those points have been satisfied they then have to somehow shoehorn on some very recognisable brand design traits as most manufacturers are wedded to the idea that customers are visually challenged and will only buy a product if it has instantly recognisable family design cues. Blame the BMW "same sausage, different lengths" approach of the past for this being a seemingly immovable mantra.
Lamborghini therefore had to incorporate their current Aventador/Huracan design language onto a 5 door box and make it a polarising design to make a real splash in the market and make their car really stand out. It looks like job done on all those fronts.
In wider SUV market sales terms the Urus will be a minnow but will almost certainly be a smash hit for Lamborghini. Expect to see it a lot on MTV in rap videos blinged up with massive wheels and the suspension lowered by a ridiculous amount

I think Lamborghini caught the Lamborghini design language pretty well with the Urus but this car will certainly polarize, no doubt about it. This is not a car you can drive in Germany I'm afraid but it is the perfect SUV for the Middle East (Dubai, etc.), Miami, maybe even California and probably London as well. This car will create a lot of haters, I am pretty sure about it but it will also be a huge success because it certainly looks sportier and meaner than a Bentayga or even Cayenne. The price tag is a bit exaggerated, I think but considering the limited(?...by capacity) build numbers, I think it will find enough customers.

I think I will wait to see it in person before deciding on the looks ( could not make the launch last night) - but let's face it , its difficult to make a car this size look good and Range Rover still does it best. Surpised no one has mentioned the performance which is pretty impressive for the size and weight. That might turn out to be the main attraction.

You guys should read the comments in some German car forums/comments on German car magazine sites: "Best" comment was that the Urus is "socially unacceptable".

I am going to be frank, who cares about Germany? This is not what this car was made for.
I think the design is a great success for a crossover with the contraints of the segment. It has some of the elements you would expect from Lamborghini. In some colors it is actually too tame for my taste, but it can be configured to look the part.
Sorry RC but you cannot say this is overpriced. A mass market designed 580hp Cayenne TTS at $170k is overpriced. A $200k exotic 650hp top of the segment Lamborghini is not.
