Na Mezger:Looks like a real step up from the RS 6, M5 has its work cut out to match Merc, seems like they nailed the 4wd/2wd !!
The RS6 Performance was a huge disappointment for me but the new E63 S AMG is an amazing product in this class, the interior is also top notch and the engine/exhaust sound is great as well. New M5 could be better in the chassis department but we all know how it will sound... 🙁
Lately, BMW hasn’t put a single product on the market I would crave for...
AWD in the M5 was overdue...

I think the Merc interior especially with the carbon option and the yellow stitching with dynamica is sublime !!!
Na Mezger:RC I am curious that ask, what you you pick as a DD, the E 63 S or a Carrera GTS
They are at exactly the same price point where I live, fully loaded
With family (kids, wife with need for luggage room)? E63 S.
Without family, definitely the Carrera GTS.
If you want more comfort though, I'd say the E63 S is the better choice.

KMM:More comfort as in ride comfort? Chris Harris thought the ride of the E63S rather busy on normal roads.
Depends what you're looking for. The E63 S is no S class, thats for sure.
I'm not a comfort guy, the C63 S Cab I drove was way too comfortable for me but my wife said comfort is borderline (she likes it though) and two of our friends who test-drove the car as well (women... ) said that it is not enjoyable because of the lack of comfort (even in the most comfortable mode).

The GLC 63 S is a family car. If you can get me a Cayenne Turbo or anything else in the same performance class for the same money, I will gladly take it.
A friend drives a Mercedes S 63 AMG on a daily basis but this is his business car and he is much younger than me. His other cars? Carrera GT, Ferrari 488 Spider and he also has permanent access to a 918, a Bugatti Veyron and others, so... You may know him...the other part of Rennteam and the one who pays the bills here...CR.

This is actually a problem. I tried other boots (a slightly different color and not that "massive") but they really are a compromise since they aren't as "comfy" as the ones I usually wear. The reason is simple: We were invited to a restaurant in Las Vegas and my wife was all over me regarding my "comfy" boots. So I had to compromise. Actually, I got myself a nice pair of expensive Italian shoes for that occasion but I was literally dying in them. Now I know how women must feel in those uncomfortable high heels. Those Italian shoes are only used now for special occasions but I found myself some boots which are less massive and in a less "obvious" color. I miss my old ones though and yes, I still have them. As you may remember, the boots are here for a reason: I have a serious injury (broke a couple of bones in my foot) and if I walk in normal shoes for a longer period of time, I get serious pain.
"Comfy" shirt? Maybe. I just don't like how it looks when people tuck in their shirts, it looks too serious, too elegant, too...how to put it... tight-assed. Maybe it is also a psychological result of my time in Switzerland where I had to wear a tie with the school crest all the time, even when going downtown. Got a lot of laughs because of that, this changes a young man. Just imagine a guy with a three days beard and a tie over 30 years ago? That three days beard wasn't one, I just had very strongly growing facial hair, this is why my nickname was "Panzerknacker" (tank buster), related to the look of those three guys in the Donald Duck comics (I think in English, they are called Beagle Boys).
"Comfy" sunny lifestyle in Florida? You obviously don't know my wife...yet. I would have to do some kind of water sports two hours per day, to play tennis two hours per day, to go to the gym two hours per day and then at least five hours to the mall with her. You call that comfy lifestyle?

Choice of a more comfortable car (more compliant suspension, I mean) is mainly dependent on where you live.
In Germany, with it's best roads in the World (except Singapore) it does not matter as much but in Chicago with our roads competing with Kabul after bombing, it does matter a lot.
New M5 Competition coming... 625 hp and 750 Nm torque.
0-200 kph in 10.8 seconds instead of 11.1 seconds (standard M5 with 600 hp).

Kimi:Is that a sign it doesn't sell well? Usually Comp updates are a bit later in the product cycle?
I don't know, the new M5 has just been released, so I doubt it.
A friend got one recently, he is here on Rennteam and will post his experience (and hopefully some nice pics as well).

JoeRockhead:My dealership is out of allocations for the rest of the year on the standard model, so I think it is doing well (not sure of the production numbers). I saw one in 'frozen' red with black wheels and it looked great.
My friend saw it at the dealership in the showroom and got it instantly...
Not sure if this means it sells slow or well but I guess Germany is a completely different car market anyway. Since I ordered my E63 S back in January or so (switched from a GLC63S order), I have seen exactly one E63 on the road over here. One. Also my dealer offered me a much better deal for the E63 S than for the GLC63S, so I guess it doesn't sell too well, also considering that there is that emissions scandal (E63 starting with June production have a particulate filter) and that AMG GT 4door coming.

My M5 was Monte Carlo Blue, and I received a lot of compliments on the colour, but I think my next one will be in more an anonymous paint choice. I saw an E63 S a couple of days ago and didn't immediately realize what it was as it looked like just another grey Merc. There are some pros to that.
