    In regards to the future Ferrari engine technology, I think the Direct Fuel Injection will compliment their future of even lighter sports cars, which has been all over the automotive magazines and websites. It is awesome that Ferrari is working directly with Bosch to expand the potential of this technology.

    Rossi, as do I. The article gives the impression that the technology may even be featured in the last years of the 612, 599, and F430 models before they are replaced.

    This is exactly the reason, why I think waiting for the F430 successor is the way to go. Don't get me wrong, the Scuderia surely is a fantastic piece of machinery, but OTOH it is the third modification (after 360CS and F430) of the 360 Modena, a car which was designed way back in the nineties.

    I expect the F430-successor to be a quantum leap compared to the F430, which will use the technology of the 599 (chassis, F1 Superfast), Scuderia (legerity, F1 Superfast2) and new technology (DI-engines). That combined with a totally new and hopefully thrilling design will make my day.
    That said, I may get a Scuderia if I can get my hands on one, but if delivery will be later than end of 2008, it's not worth the wait, since I still expect the successor in early 2009.

    Just need to get new cars every 6mos to have latest/greatest/most debugged-tech....and, from an aesthetic standpoint, to have car, during one's period of use, w/fewest inevitable battle scars from appropriate use (and least amt of mtce downtime/hassles/costs)....

    Now that you put it that way Rossi, the successor could possibly be monumental. If the Scuderia could be this fast I can only imagine the replacement of the F430. It is not as mind-boggling as trying to understand various quantum physics theories but thinking of something that is lighter, faster, with higher tech equipment in a few years time runs close to it.
