    upgrades today

    Spent some money on my C4S cab today in a bid to ensure I keep it for at least a year.

    Short Shifter with alcantara stick
    alcantara steering wheel
    alcantara hand brake
    wheel spacers (last minute upselling by Porsche)

    I expected to lose my multi function buttons but to my suprise, the dealer sourced me a multi function alcantara wheel. Wow

    The short shifter is a revelation. Highly recomended.

    I am half tempted by X51 but dealer fit is very expensive at 7k + vat (GBP).

    I feel like my cab is more GT3 like now.

    My dealer loaned me a standard 2.7 boxster while work was carried out. What a great car!!! Can't believe its less than half the price of my 911. Lacking power yes, but the handling was sublime. Hence I want to drive the Cayman S.

    If you are planning on just holding on to the car for one more year, then don't get the X51 as it will be a waste of money since, at least in the USA, buyers are always on the lookout for some "free" expensive options and will not likely pay what you will pay for the option.

    If, like me, you plan on keeping the car for a much longer time, then do it as you'll really enjoy it. I have it on my '06 Coupé and really think it is worth it only if you were to keep the car.

    How much did you pay for the steering wheel, the handbrake and the gearshift in particular?

    total cost in GBP inc vat was Pounds3633.63 including Pounds526.27 for 5mm spacers.

    Parts not inc vat were
    steering wheel 1084.59
    gear shift & handbrake 907.96
