Best thing you can do on that car is upgrade suspension. Engine/Power mods are nearly impossible without spending a ton of money.
You might check out the stuff at www.carnewal.com
Click Suspension, the P64, then H&R Coilovers w/ Adjustable Stabilizers. That's a nice package.
They have great stuff and fantastic service!
Alternatively, you could re-gear (lower and closer ratios) for better acceleration, if you don't mind loosing some top-speed.
Big Red brakes are an option if you track the car...

suspension already sorted , so that expense has gone , the car is for wifey to track as gt3 rs too hot for her , wanted something solid 4 wheel drive and less scary, having driven the car though it does make me grin and evaluate modern verses old, being a bit on the over weight side it could do with a bit of mid range punch, uk tuners tend not to have all the bolt on goodies the US have , might go for a motech conversion or see if a small supercharger gives it that little punch !
