Help me understand how Audi's model names work?
Why is the S8 or S3 called "S" and the RS4, RS6 with RS? I always get confused as to how they class their vehicles. That being said I never know which is top in it's category from Audi?

"RennSport" is short for the German term "Rennen Sport" which means "Racing Sport".

RS = Rennsport = Racing Sport ("Rennen Sport" does not exist - sometimes German is easier than you think )
O.K. O.K. not thaaaat easy though - Rennsport is a general term which includes horse racing and bycicle racing also. If one wants to be more specific Motorsport is the better term. Of course with a RS badge on a car it's pretty self explaining that it does not refer to bycicle racing or racing with 1 HP only

So, basically your whole post was just a poorly disguised attempt at being a smartass?
If german is so straightforward - explain this picture:

looks like a 2001/02 A4.
Yes, that's it. Could be just a Ferrari or an R8 in disguise though .
