    997 GT3 Model Update?

    Don't know if this has been posted yet but apparently the 997 GT3 will continue to exist in a revised variant with a slightly stronger engine (425-435 HP) and PSM.
    There have been rumours of an end of 997 GT3 production but it seems these rumours are referring just to the current 415 HP version without PSM.

    Great news! Thanks for the update!

    Good thing I didn't buy a 997 GT3 by paying over sticker like many others have here in the US!

    Thanks, and sounds like Direct Injection too, yes? Do you know how long until introduction?

    I hope US version has sunroof-delete too!

    Good news RC . this means that GT3 current version will drop down a bit...and i will be able to get my hands on one...hopefully....

    I have ordered a 2008 GT3 RS and the production is in 2008 first few months.

    I have ordered a 2008 GT3 RS and the production is in 2008 first few months.


    The MkII version will come for Model Year 2009, I think...

    Great news as we always thought that the GT3 can use more horsepower with its excellent setup. Too bad this will hurt the resale of current GT3 and RS.

    Plus I have already placed the order for the current RS, I think that's the best design.

    Hi RC - thanks for the GT3 update!

    It sounds like a power increase of around +20bhp for the MY09 GT3 would be consistent with the power increases scheduled for the GT3 Cup cars for the 2008 Carrera Cup GB - up from 400bhp to 420bhp - and in line with the GT3 Grand Am spec, which also received the upgraded 420bhp motor.

    RC - any chance you have any hints on the expected options for the 997 GT3 mk2...

    * Do you expect the revised GT3 to launch as a MY09... maybe at Geneva motor show in March 2008?
    * Is PDK expected to make it to the GT3 as an option?
    * Will PSM on the GT3 be able to be fully switched off?
    * Any chance of PASM with a switchable non-active mode?
    * Will the GT3 engine also get direct-injection?
    * Will the GT2 folding bucket seats be offered?
    * Maybe a "monsoon" TC option (or 4wd) for the GT3 when it rains at the Nurburgring...
    * How about a carbon fibre roof panel?
    * Maybe a shorter gear ratio option?
    * Do you expect a 3.8 litre version of the GT3... maybe an RSR?

    ...or maybe you have your own suggestions for Mr Andreas Preuninger to consider!

    Yes, Direct Injection, Yes MY09, Yes PASM off switch (like GT2), yes folding race seats (like GT2), Maybe PDK, Maybe RS/RSR version with 3.8L or 4.0L motor...
