for some reason, the more manufacturers push their Nring times, the less relevant I find the ring to be to daily driving, and the more I feel the cars may be compromised for the end user in order to meet those figures.
The Nordschleife is similar to a fast one-way mountain road with mixed surfaces and bumps. The Ring times are a relevant measure of real world prowess.
yes, but two issues.
1. the ring times are only valid if the car provided to the mag is COMPLETELY stock.
2. who is gonna go around and boast about ring times? 7:43 for the Z06? Id like to meet a Z06 owner that can actually pull that off. most owners (if any) wont be getting sub 8 minutes.
1. The benchmark Sport Auto times are for stock cars (manufacturer claims are dubious).
2. The driving skill of owners is irrelevant in car comparisons.
