    Performanca data 550HP RUF 997TT TIP

    Hi Guys,

    just came back from my first test. Here is the first performance data, all measured by the performance box.

    Outside temp 17 degrees C., road dry.

    All on normal roads, which are not perfectly flat, even and have a relatively rough surface. Oh, and no tricks or other performance enhancing 'techniques'. All standard driving, as one would do every day. (Except perhaps 0-100 which was with torque-braking)

    0-100 km/h: 3.4 secs
    100-200 km/h: 7.1 secs
    200-250 km/h: 5.9 secs

    So that makes:

    0-200 km/h: 10.5 secs

    and

    0-250 km/h: 16.4 secs

    I think these can be improved a little, on a cooler day, with less humidity and on a proper track.

    Will post some pics and vids tomorrow.

    Great Results...

    How did you manage to do 0-100 in 3.4 ?!?!
    I am always making 0-100 in 3.7 (with brake help on start)
    Also my car does 100-200 in 7.0sec (so it is about the same)

    I will test a 997turbo tiptronic with modified turbos next week and I will post results..

    I do it like this:
    Press brake, rev engine to 2200rpm, release brake and simultanously floor the gas pedal. Used to get 3.7 like that pre RUF-Mod. Now 3.4 secs.

    Is your car modded, or how do you do 100-200 in 7.0 secs ? If so, whats mods have you done ?

    Yes it is modded.. When it was stock (only Cargraphic headers and exhaust NO ECU ) I was still making 0-100 in 3.7 and 100-200 in 7.9sec

    When it was stock to do 100-200 in 7.9, thats not bad. I used to do it in 8.7. Is yours manual or TIP ?

    My car is Tiptronic..
    I said stock meaning no Ecu.. (I already had as I told you sport filter cargraphic headers, and cargraphic exhaust)
    Now I also have Evoms Intercoolers and modified Ecu aswell..
    When I will test a 997 turbo Tip next week with modified Vtgs I will let you know..

    It seems it pays off to wait.
    The 250-300 kph time would be interesting too...if you get the chance...
    It could hit CGT territory.

    Btw: wait until the 997 GT2 is ready, guys. The modded VTG chargers and the larger intercoolers should fit the 997 Turbo pretty well, especially the intercoolers are interesting because they should fit without any mods.
    For hot days, this would definetely be a performance gain.

    Sportech does.. But I agree with RC. Hold on to wait and see the turbos of 997 GT2.. The only problem is that these turbos and intercoolers are going to cost a fortune....

    I used the 996 GT2 intercoolers in my tuned 996 Turbo and they were actually half the price of the 996 Turbo intercoolers, surprisingly. I doubt that this will the same case with the 997 GT2 intercoolers but I think the price tag will be pretty much the same. The price of the 997 GT2 VTG chargers is around 3000 Euro each incl. german VAT as far as I heard. This is only a couple of hundreds of Euro more than the 997 Turbo chargers.

    Niko does this car also have the sportec exhaust? I would like to come around if possible to check the difference with mine. When are you going to test drive it?

    very nice numbers .. 0-100 its faster than the CGT but from 100-250 the CGT is faster (by 1 second , the test was in hot weather 37*C) .. can we see your graph

    Just to be on the safe side: which GPS equipment did you use for this test?

    CGT do you have the graph your of CARRERA GT ?

    yes ,, i will put it when i try the car in cold weather .. from 37 c to 20c or 10 c there is big different .. i can save around 2-3 second from 0-300 .. i like to put it 1 time withuot any excuses

    what do you expect of CGT?

    32, 31 seconds? or maybe your TT could be faster?

    under 29 .. its much much faster than my 997tt from 100-270 . and faster from 270-300

    ANOTHER QUESTION.

    what happen with the SPORT BUTTON WHEN the ECU IS UPGRADED?

    i mean.. the power gain(530,540HP) is with or without the SPORT ON??
    there is any change with the sport button on or off?

    you can feel the difference .. when it`s on the boost is always 1.2(530-540hp) and if it`s off the boost is always 1.0 ..

    That is one fast car.

    Typical test results are 0-200 in 12.3+ and 100-200 in 8.6 so your 7.9 is already faster than average?

    but some people say that the turbo with SPORT ON has aprox 510 HP's...

    IT MEANS that the car with ECU has 20,30 HP over stock?

    wich should be the MAX PRESSION of the VTG TURBOS??

    they tune to 1.2 but obviously it can do more...

    i dont try my car on dyno .. the tuners told us it`s 540-530hp with ecu .. but i dont feel it .. 997tt need exhaust and headers to get 540-570 hp .. without the exhaust the graph will be bad with just ecu .. you feel to much back pressure .. with the exhaust(100,200cells) and headers you can get more nm , hp and much better graph (no turbo lag)

    LAT,

    My tiptronic baseline results was 0-100km 3,9sec and 100-200 was 8,2sec.

    Guys, we should be careful with numbers because nobody is actually using qualified and/or certified equipment for testing.
    The best real life test is back to back with all cars at the same time on the same track. I know this is difficult but this is the only way to get an accurate comparison.
    I also prefer to use the speedo speed (not the real one) as a reference point because the speedo accuracy on most 997 Turbos is similar, usually it is 5-12 kph off the real speed, depending on the speed level.
    My 997 Turbo needed 25 seconds from 0-250 kph as far as I remember. If the tuned RUF 997 Turbo with claimed 550 HP does the same 0-250 kph performance in aprox. 8 seconds less, this is pretty impressive.

    RC,

    A standard turbo needs 20.5 secs appx from 0-250 km/h. Not 25 secs, unless there is a problem with it...

    Lukas, nice numbers. Are you going to post the graph data?
    The Tiptronic Heidl 540PS (stock weight) did 100-200kph in 7.5+s. in 2006. Autobild tests with 2 people on board if I am not mistaken (Sport Auto does), so the data is comparable I would think. Are you 100% stock weight?

    i sent a email for RUF and they told me that they dont do CHIP TUNING. so... i dont know nothing more.

    Here's what he has - check his first post on Friday:
    The kit includes:

    -ECU upgrade
    -Sport air filters
    -Sport Cats (100 Cell)
    -Exhaust with 4 holes (sorry if 'holes' is not the right word) NOT just the exhaust tips with 4 holes but the exhaust itself has 4 outlets.

    Cost: appx 11,000 EUR plus VAT !
