RC:noone1:Is it actually safe to go 350kph in the left lane during the day? I mean, isn't it possible someone going a mere 160kph pulls over to the left lane to pass and slowly accelerate more with their 3er, and didn't see you coming at 350kph?
Actually, it is safer than at night (even a small cat could be disastrous at that speed...) in my opinion.
However, I have four rules for high speed driving:
1. If there is more than one car on the right lane, I pass them relatively slow and vigilant.
2. I never pass other cars at full speed, only if there is a third (at least) lane and the car is on the far right lane and I am on the far left one.
3. I always turn my lights on when driving fast on the Autobahn, the daylight running lights are not enough!
4. I only drive as fast as I can see, meaning that I can brake in time.
Most high speed drivers I know do not respect these rules and this is why accidents happen. Also, at those speeds, you better turn down the radio volume and do not get yourself distracted in any way!
The driver in the video wasn't too careful I'm afraid, here are the "mistakes" he made:
...
In all of the above videos he was in full speed over 300 kph (in the last one, he was in full acceleration).
This could have gone wrong in so many ways...

Excellent points and advice!
Re US driving. Tennessee may be bad but California is worse. No speed hierarchy rules followed on a multi-lane freeway. Most drivers creep into a freeway and immediately move to the left fast lane, stay there clogging faster vehicles, and only leave it at the last second diving to their exit on the right. Nuts!
Freeway driving in the US is like NASCAR race driving. All lanes packed at approximately the same speed.
Tesla drivers? Many (most?) are no drivers, they are game console operators. Some like to exhibit the 0-RPM high torque and start at red lights like jack rabbits. They are driving a fast golf cart, but like lemmings they follow the powers that be and get those freedom limiting vehicles, heavily subsidized by taxpayers. That is no way to introduce a new product.
